  • Patent number: 4531876
Abstract: A storage silo adapted to difficultly flowing bulk materials to be discharged at the bottom of the silo. A baffle is disposed in a cylindrical container. The baffle is attached to the cylindrical container wall and runs inclined along said wall to the silo bottom. Baffle sections extend along a helical path over a central angle of at least about 360 degrees and are substantially continuously connected. At least some baffle sections following in circumferential direction along the silo wall are staggered with respect to each other increasing with the distance from the bottom. The baffle is preferably provided as a helical band. The pitch angle of the baffle relative to the cylindrical wall can be from about 15 to 30 degrees. A heating element can be provided to allow for heating of at least part of the baffle.

  • Patent number: 4363586
Abstract: A bunker discharge apparatus, especially for bulk material. The apparatus includes conveyor elements having a ladder form or shape and extending parallel to each other and movable back and forth, by way of a drive, in the conveying or feeding direction. The elements include rungs or crossbars arranged transverse to the conveying direction and wedge-shaped in cross section. The crossbars have a stroke or pusher surface at right angles in the conveyor direction to shear and push bulk material to discharge; counter to the conveying direction, the crossbars have a flat-inclined wedge surface which returns to starting location with minimum displacement of bulk material. A drop-out or discharge connection or connecting piece having a conveying element and arranged at right angles is provided below the ladder-formed conveying elements.

  • Patent number: 4077526
Abstract: A silo for pourable material, especially heavy-flowing chemical and mineral substances with an upper charging station and at least one lower withdrawing station, according to which additional friction walls are in vertically spaced superimposed arrangement provided on the inner silo wall and are inclined downwardly relative to horizontal planes while being provided with passages therethrough for the passage of silo material therethrough, the angle of inclination of the friction walls being at every area thereof greater than the specific pouring angle of the respective pourable material in the silo.

  • Patent number: 3985244
Abstract: A silo, or bin, for flowable materials, especially heavy particulate solid materials. The bin has a bottom wall with a cylindrical wall upstanding therefrom. The bottom wall has a radial discharge opening formed therein and a rotor positioned above the bottom wall sweeps material into the opening. The bin has a guiding body on the axis which tapers in the downward direction and mounted inside the bin side wall are brake members which incline downwardly toward the axis of the bin and are preferably within the axial range of the guiding body.
