  • Patent number: 6034320
Abstract: A roof panel incorporating a solar power generator, for a motor vehicle sunshine roof, has a foamed plastic frame around the edge of the panel and a plurality of crystalline solar cells forming a field of solar cells extending considerably into the region of the frame. Special precautions ensure that the crystalline solar cells, which are susceptible to breakage, are not damaged when foaming around the cover to form the frame. The solar cell field enables good use of solar energy and can be accommodated in a lightweight panel.

  • Patent number: 4975133
Abstract: An apparatus for receiving components having overlapping surfaces and welding the components together with the use of ultrasound. An ultrasound emitter receives a high frequency current and converts it into mechanical ultrasonic vibrations having the same frequency. A transmitter transmits the ultrasonic vibrations to a sonotrode which focuses the ultrasonic vibrations on the components to be welded together. The sonotrode is provided with a circumferential collar and means are provided for lowering the collar during the welding process so that a part of the collar tangentially contacts the overlapping surface of one of the components. The part of the collar which tangentially contacts the overlapping surface introduces ultrasonic energy into the components. The ultrasonic emitter, transmitter and sonotrode are rotatably mounted via a vibration node of the transmitter.

  • Patent number: 4717790
Abstract: A contoured solar generator whose solar cells and their associated electrical terminals and connecting lines are embedded in a laminate including at least the solar cells, an elastic thermosetting adhesive foil and a glass pane. To adapt the solar generator to a given external contour or to fit it into a given contour, the solar generator is configured as a curved laminate including at least one-dimensionally bent solar cells.

  • Patent number: 4540843
Abstract: The invention relates to a solar cell for exposure to light rays on both sides. The solar cell contains only one pn junction on one surface side of the semiconductor body. The base of the solar cell is uniformly and less strongly doped than the thin surface zone of the conduction type opposite to that of the semiconductor base. Both zones of the solar cell are in contact with a structured conduction path system on opposite surface sides.

  • Patent number: 4009054
Abstract: A terrestrial solar cell generator including a plurality of solar cells mounted in a housing and interconnected by a plurality of leads with the solar cells being protected against adverse environmental conditions. The housing is entirely formed of the same radiation resistant material and encloses the solar cells and the connecting leads on all sides.
