  • Patent number: 9503184
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for aligning a sensor system, said sensor system having a transmitter unit having at least one light beam emit-ting transmitter and a receiver unit having at least one receiver as-signed to the transmitter, which receiver receives the light beams from the transmitter when the sensor system is in operation. In order to align the transmitter unit, an alignment receiver is positioned on the receiver unit in front of the receiver, said alignment receiver having a larger aperture angle than the receiver. The light beams emitted by the transmitter are received by the alignment receiver. Depending on the quantity of light of the light beams received by the alignment receiver, data are displayed on a display unit.

  • Patent number: 5441439
Abstract: A method for finishing surfaces of workpieces includes a honing process with at least two method steps. In one of the method steps the surface, for example, the inner wall of a bore, is honed to a predetermined final dimension whereby a very fine structure with minimal depth of honing traces is generated so that a great portion of the surface functions as the supporting surface. In a further method step, which can be performed before or after the finishing-honing step, crossed grooves are provided in the surface by subjecting the surface to a stream of a medium, especially a laser, whereby the pattern of the grooves provides a lubricant reservoir for the future use of the workpiece. The treatment with a stream of a medium does not cause deformations at the edges of the grooves. This ensures an optimal distribution of the lubricant.

  • Patent number: 5095662
Abstract: Pressure with which working parts of the honing tool are pressed against the bore wall is controlled during machining. The pressure per unit area of the working parts can thereby be kept constant or specifically varied, irrespective of the surface configuration of the bore wall. For this purpose, the honing machine includes a feed mechanism and electronic control device for predetermining the pressure of the working parts against the bore.

  • Patent number: 4798024
Abstract: A method and apparatus for deburring the inner edge of the bore of a workpiece. A tool is introduced into the bore, is rotated at high speed, and has a wobbling movement imparted thereto. Alternatively, the tool can be rotated while a wobbling movement is imparted to the workpiece. The tool is embodied as a grinding rod which is held by a grinder unit which is drivingly connected with an eccentric drive. The grinder unit is preferably pivotable in all directions. During operation, the tool or the workpiece describes, in the bore of the workpiece, a wobbling movement having a circular path which is concentric to the axis of the bore, and having a diameter which increases in the direction toward the free end of the bore. The burr which is to be worked is thus very precisely removed in a simple manner without the danger that the burr is moved into the bore. Furthermore, the tool is embodied in a simple manner, so that it has a long service life.

  • Patent number: 4606150
Abstract: A grinding machine for machining the inner surfaces of workpieces. The machine has a bench to which are secured a workpiece headstock and a carriage which supports a grinder unit. The carriage can be moved on the bench via guides which are disposed on opposite sides of the grinder unit. Respective adjusting devices are provided for respectively pivoting a given one of the guides about an axis that is disposed at right angles to the axis of the grinder. The guides are formed by a circular guide and a roller guide arrangement which extend parallel to one another. The guides can be pivoted independently of one another to conform to the respective position of the workpiece axis, so that it is possible to achieve a precise alignment of the grinder axis relative to the workpiece axis, and at the same time to feed the tool against the wall of the bore which is to be machined. A very high machining precision is obtained in this way. Furthermore, the grinding machine is structurally straight forward.

  • Patent number: 4551947
Abstract: A device for honing workpieces. The device includes a rotatable and axially reciprocating honing tool which is guided by an upper and a lower end section in corresponding bearings of a workholding fixture, and also includes a drive rod between the honing tool and a machine spindle. This drive rod is flexible in the radial direction, which prevents out-of-balance at high rotational speeds of the honing tool as a result of excessive mass and excessive play in pivot bearings, while the associated uncontrolled vibrations are also prevented.

  • Patent number: 4545152
Abstract: The grinding apparatus permits precision machining of a valve seat or a sealing surface, and includes a grinding spindle having a holding and guiding part extending into a finished workpiece bore with clearance. The holding and guiding part is smaller in diameter than the grinding spindle and includes a pin which carries on its free end a grinding tool. The other end of the pin passes into the grinding spindle which has a substantially larger diameter. The grinding spindle is located outside the bore of the workpiece and may thus be made very stable. The pin is held by the grinding spindle so that the workpiece is held and guided securely even in the case of very small workpiece diameters.

  • Patent number: 4428973
Abstract: Method for the uniform, fully enclosing surface coating of individual particles of pourable materials having nearly uniform particle size with either a smooth, rough or scabrous serrated surface, in a fluidizing fountain with heat air under use of an inorganic and or organic coating material in the form of a suspension or solution. A predetermined quantity of the material is to be coated within a steep funnel-like upwards enlarged container, having a shorter less steep funnel-like lower segment located at the bottom of the upwardly enlarged container through injection of a heat air stream at controlled velocity in ascending vertical direction, forming a fluidized fountain of limited height and diameter incident to the middle axis, thereby forming a core zone; with injection from below and in the same direction as the heat air through one or several injection nozzles, located at the lower end of the container of the suspension or solution facing in an upward direction.
