    Abstract: A method and a device for making a composite profile comprising two metal members which are held apart from each other by means of at least two insulating bars whose edges are clamped in grooves formed between flanges on the metal members by deforming the flanges, said method comprising the use of a basic, one-piece metal profile in which inner flanges are interconnected, the connection being broken in conjunction with deformation of the flanges, said device comprising cutting elements adapted to at least partly break the connection between the inner flanges.
