  • Publication number: 20060008330
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for the continuous gravimetric metering and pneumatic conveying of pourable material which is conveyed across a given distance by a metering rotor (1) which is arranged in a pressure-proof manner in a housing (2) and is provided with conveying pockets (1a). Said housing (2) comprises a charging station and a discharging station for the pourable material, which are connected to the inlet/outlet (4, 5) of a pneumatic conveyor system. The housing (2) is connected to a force metering device which detects the momentary load generated on the metering rotor (1) by the conveyed material. The inlet and outlet of the pneumatic conveyor system are connected to the bottom of the housing (2). In order to build the inventive device in a compact manner while reducing the assembly requirements and improving flow guidance, the flow from the inlet (4) to the outlet (5) is deflected within the upper area of the housing (2).

  • Patent number: 6254104
Abstract: An improved valve stem gasket comprising a flat-shaped gasket with a central aperture wherein the durometer of the gasket varies from a relatively low hardness value in the inner portion of the gasket extending radially outward from the central aperture to a relatively higher hardness value at the radially outer portion of the gasket whereat the gasket will be contacted by the upper wall portion of the valve housing. In a preferred form of the gasket, the variation in durometer value will be gradually varied from the inner portion of the gasket to the radially outer portion of the gasket.

  • Patent number: 5579944
Abstract: A multi-layer gasket for providing a seal between a mounting cup and a container comprising a middle layer of rigid plastic material and inner and outer layers of softer plastic material. The middle layer supports the inner and outer layers, which provide sealing surfaces with the mounting cup and the container bead. A gasketed mounting cup comprising a panel, a skirt integral with and depending from the periphery of the panel, wherein the skirt is outwardly flared to form an annular channel for receiving a container bead that defines the container opening and a multi-layer gasket positioned in the channel portion of the mounting cup, which gasket comprises a middle layer of rigid plastic material, an inner layer of soft plastic material adjacent the channel of the mounting cup and an outer layer of soft plastic material for engaging the container bead. The middle layer is preferably high density polyethylene or polypropylene and the inner and outer layers are preferably linear low density polyethylene.

  • Patent number: 4528848
Abstract: A device for continuous, gravimetric metering and pneumatic conveying of pourable material provides that a material stream is conveyed over a measuring path while charging a load measuring device and the product of moment load and conveying speed is formed. The conveyor is in the form of a rotor having an essentially vertical axis and conveyor pockets in the form of chambers or cells which are moved with the rotor in a circular orbit over the measuring path. A housing surrounds the rotor in a pressure tight manner and includes a charging aperture and an emptying aperture which are rotationally displaced from one another. A load measuring device is connected to the housing and a tachometer is provided for measuring the angular velocity of the rotor. A pneumatic conveying system is provided which has feed lines respectively communicating with an air feed aperture in the housing and the emptying aperture.
