  • Patent number: 5567071
Abstract: A refill cartridge for a stick product dispenser, for stick products including adhesive sticks, lipsticks, release agent sticks, shaving soap sticks, coloring sticks, and so forth, is provided by molding the stick product material to have a shape substantially the same as the internal shape of the associated dispenser casing or holder, and to fill the free internal volume of the holder. When the stick product originally within the dispenser is used, the refill cartridge is partially inserted into an open end of the empty dispenser holder, and the cartridge is either pushed or drawn into the dispenser, for refilling the same with the desired stick product, and permitting non-consumable portions of the stick product dispenser to be repeatedly reused via such refilling.

  • Patent number: 5556010
Abstract: A glue stick with a piston supporting the stick substance and a shell surrounding the stick substance is disclosed. A drive mechanism for up and down movement of the stick substance is formed in the nature of a piston connecting rod coupled to the piston, which at the other end is coupled to an actuating element which can be actuated from outside the shell. The drive element can be formed as a rod (2, a, 30, 40, 52) or as a flexible band (2C). The actuating element can be formed as a double ring (3), as a toggle joint (17), as a tongue shaped double wheel (32), as a wheel (41), or as a semi-circular solid wheel (53). preferably formed as a one-piece injection moulding. For assembly of the glue stick is pushed in to the shell from the open side, and then the glue stick substance is poured from above into the hollow space of the shell, becoming anchored on or in the piston when it set.

  • Patent number: 5417321
Abstract: This invention relates to an operationally reliable two-compartment container designed to prevent unintended use before application. The invention comprises a one-piece container having two compartments assembled one upon another, which are interlinked by a transfer opening into which a stopper is mounted to keep the contents of the two compartments separate during storage. The stopper is linked by supporting devices to the lower end of a pouring spout which seals the upper part of the container with a covering cap. The pouring spout is connected as a one-piece unit to an elastic membrane, which is turned inside of the container when closed, and outside when the container is opened, by which the pouring spout extends with an encompassing sealing cap into the collar region of the upper part of the compartment, is linked by a screw thread.

  • Patent number: 5373965
Abstract: A collapsible container for extrudable viscous fluids comprising a tube, two opposing side walls of the tube being deformable under applied compressive pressure, the tube closed at one end and open at the other, the open end having a nozzle and openable cap means.

  • Patent number: 5358154
Abstract: A closure includes a capping part (1), which is attachable to a container, in which a form-stable floor wall (9) has a sealing apparatus (11) with a sealing cone (13) is held to the rest of the capping part by means of a flexible wall area so that the sealing cone can be brought into and out of a sealing engagement relationship with a mouth opening (5) of the container. Measures are provided, for example in the form of inversions of a flexible wall area (12), to hold the sealing apparatus in end positions corresponding to open and closed positions of the sealing apparatus. In the end positions the sealing apparatus (11) can be moved by hand via an integral hand-manipulation portion (15). A pour spout (16) can be formed on the flexible wall area (12) so that it experiences a swinging upon movement of the sealing apparatus (11) between the closing and opening position corresponding to the respective positions of the flexible wall area.
