  • Patent number: 4113721
Abstract: A water-soluble, non-polar solvent-soluble fugitive tint for textile materials is provided having the formulaR[(ethyleneoxy).sub.n (Propyleneoxy).sub.m ].sub.xwherein R is an organic dyestuff radical, [(ethyleneoxy).sub.n (Propyleneoxy).sub.m ] is a polymer obtained by combining n moles of ethylene oxide and m moles of propylene oxide, x is from 1 to 6, and said polymer contains from about 40 to 60 mole percent ethyleneoxy units, and the product (n + m).sub.x is from 30 to about 200.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 13, 1977
Date of Patent: September 12, 1978
    Assignee: Milliken Research Corporation
Inventors: Peter Jacob Hauser, Hans Heinrich Kuhn
  • Patent number: 4102644
Abstract: Tint compositions for nylon having improved fugitivity properties comprising an admixture of a colorant having the general formulaR{N-[(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n H].sub.2 }.sub.xwherein R is an organic dyestuff radical, x is an integer of 1 to 6, and the product of 2n times x is from about 200 to about 300, and at least 30 weight percent of a water-soluble polymeric resin. A minor effective amount of a free radical inhibitor can be incorporated into the tint compositions to retard free radical interaction between the colorant and the nylon.

Date of Patent: July 25, 1978
    Assignee: Milliken Research Corporation
Inventors: Peter Jacob Hauser, James Easton Hendrix, Hans Heinrich Kuhn
  • Patent number: 4091034
Abstract: Liquid, water-insoluble colorants and aqueous dispersions of same are provided in which the colorant is represented by the formulaR - (oleophilic polymeric constituent).sub.n,Wherein R is an organic dyestuff radical, the oleophilic polymeric constituent is polyalkylene oxides and co-polymers of polyalkylene oxides in which the alkylene moiety of the polymeric constituent contains at least 3 carbon atoms and such polymeric constituent has a molecular weight of at least 500, and n is an integer of from 1 to 6.
