  • Patent number: 4687035
Abstract: A machine for processing plywood sheets which pass one behind the other includes a horizontal transporting and supporting roller, a cutter located above the roller and movable toward and away from the roller, a transporting device including a machine table and at least one transporting band rotatable about the machine table, and a testing device for rejecting defective plywood sheets or sheet portions, which has a plurality of testing rollers supported on pivotable parallel levers and is located above the machine table, so as to abut against the plywood sheets which are transported by the transporting device.

  • Patent number: 4545845
Abstract: In a machine for assembling veneer strips in transit on a machine table, said machine comprising conveying means, preferably driven conveyor discs, which are mounted in the machine frame and gather together the veneer strips by their butt edges, and said machine also comprising a feed device for supplying adhesive filament, such feed device applying an adhesive filament to the upper surface of the two veneer strips in an undulatory or zigzag manner over the butt edge region, the improvement comprising a spreading device, which coats the lateral longitudinal edges (butt edges) of the veneer strips with glue, disposed on the machine frame in front of the filament feed device when viewed in the conveying direction of the veneer strips, and at least one hot air nozzle disposed behind said spreading device in front of the filament feed device.

  • Patent number: 4305775
Abstract: In a veneer assembling machine in which an adhesive thread is adhesively applied over the joint between two strips of veneer, a spool (26) is detachably secured to a machine base plate (27) in a receiving ring (31). A ring shoulder (28) engaging in the receiving ring (31) at the end of the spool (26) is thus provided with sliding tracks (29) and with adjacent indentations (30) in which a machine end stop pin (38) engages. A thrust ring (33) is resiliently mounted in the receiving ring (31) and presses against the ring shoulder (28) from below and tensions the spool (26).
