  • Patent number: 4038221
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the making of cold-hardening foams containing urethane groups by in-mold foaming. The need to use a relatively large number of additives like emulsifiers, stabilizers and activators can be eliminated by using certain silicon compounds of a specific formula. Foamable reaction mixtures using these compounds with polyethers, polyisocyanates, water and/or organic blowing agents, and catalysts will produce foams with properties acceptable for use in upholstery, cars, and furniture.
