  • Patent number: 5282918
Abstract: An apparatus for separating and drawing off a film from a laminate, the laminate including the film and a carrier material upon which the film is laminated. The apparatus includes a first plate; a second plate being disposed above the first plate; a motor; a spindle being operatively connected to the motor; a separating apparatus being movable along the spindle above the first plate and including a wedge-shaped separating knife; a gap which lies above and parallel to the separating knife and which is inclined at an oblique angle relative to a horizontal plane; and a stay passing vertically through the first plate which holds an underside of the laminate firmly in place. The laminate rests on the first plate, and the separating apparatus moves into engagement with a corner of the film such that the film corner is detached from the carrier material and is threaded into the gap. The stay holds the underside of the laminate firmly in place when the film corner is threaded into the gap.

  • Patent number: 5269873
Abstract: An apparatus for peeling-off a film from a laminate, the laminate including the film and a carrier material upon which the film is laminated. The apparatus includes a horizontal base plate, and a platform having an upper portion and a lower portion, a front side, and a transverse gap which divides the upper portion from the lower portion. The platform is inclined relative to the horizontal base plate at a vertical to horizontal ratio of .ltoreq.10:1 and the laminate is guided over the platform. The apparatus also includes a separating apparatus which is disposed proximate to the transverse gap at a distance from and parallel to the front side of the platform.

  • Patent number: 5264036
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a fluid to a moving carrier strip includes a distributor and a plurality of individual flow channels which together form a multi-jet nozzle. The individual flow channels in the form of capillary tubes are arranged at right angles to the distributor axis at equal distances along a longitudinal line parallel to the distributor axis. The capillary tubes protrude into an internal chamber of the distributor and the capillary tube located at each end of the longitudinal line protrudes further into the interior of the distributor than the other capillary tubes.

  • Patent number: 4678310
Abstract: A device for treating printing plates with a fluid. A flooded trough has a bottom, two lateral boundary walls and containment blades, one blade located on each of the inlet and outlet sides of the trough. The bottom carries a plate guide surrounded by a rectangular overflow channel integral with the bottom. Feed branches are releasably inserted into holder pipes leading from the overflow channel to a feed line having a T-branch. The feed line is connected via a pump to a tank, the latter used as a stock vessel for the fluid. The holder pipes are taken through an inclined bottom of a collecting trough which surrounds the flooded trough, and are rigidly joined to the inclined bottom. Baffles are provided in the overflow channel above the inlet openings of the feed branches. The fluid flows into the flooded trough through the feed line, and flows out by overflow into the collecting trough, then to the stock vessel, and thereafter is recirculated by the pump.

  • Patent number: 4632382
Abstract: A device 1 for engaging and disengaging rollers rollers 14, 15, which are arranged horizontally in pairs, with the shaft ends 18 of the upper rollers being provided with ball bearings 6 which can be lifted and lowered and are guided in bracket-type guides 7. The webs 3, 4 of U-shaped slide members 17 are guided in friction bearings 2, and said slide members can be shifted to and fro by a shifting path X. The webs 3, 4 are provided with recesses 9, 10, each of which possesses a bevelled edge 5a, 5b. The ball bearings 6 roll along the bevelled edges such that in the engaged position the ball bearings are pressed down in the guides 7 by the upper edges 5b, and in the disengaged position they are raised by the lower edges 5a. The recesses 9 provided in the lower web are staggered with respect to the recesses 10 provided in the upper web 4 by the shifting path X.

  • Patent number: 4389156
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for lifting, gripping and transporting printing plates in a processing apparatus of the type in which the printing plates are fixed by suction on a processing table during processing at individual stations of the apparatus. The device comprises a lifting device, positioned below the processing table, for lifting a printing plate positioned on the table, movable in the longitudinal direction of the apparatus, and a gripping member positioned above the processing table for gripping a printing plate lifted off of the processing table by the lifting device.

  • Patent number: 4329936
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in a doctor blade device adapted for use in an automatic processor for printing plates, comprising at least one doctor blade made of a flexible material and being detachably mounted in a guide bar, and holding means for attaching the doctor blade to two side plates of the printing plate processor, the improvement comprising means connecting the guide bar with a carrier bar each end of which is adapted to be inserted from above into a channel section having an upwardly pointing opening and having two arms spaced by a web; means securing each channel section by its web to a side plate in such a manner that its two arms extend transversely to the transport direction of a printing plate in the direction of the interior of the printing plate processor; and support means at both ends of the upper surface of the carrier bar whereby the carrier bar together with the connected guide bar and the doctor blade rest upon said channel sections.
