  • Patent number: 6749147
Abstract: A friction winding shaft for roll cutting and winding machines in which the shaft frictionally engages tubular winding cores for winding of strip-shaped bands or similar items. A plurality of winding rings adjoin each other as disposed on a central drive shaft. In addition spring-biased winding core holders protrude from and are distributed over the outer ring surface in the form of clamping elements. The clamping elements are seated in recesses of the rings and are capable of pivoting around axes that are parallel to the friction winding shaft axis. The recesses are provided with stop surfaces which limit the pivoting movement of the clamping elements. In order to further increase the application possibilities of the friction winding shaft the recesses are sized and arranged in such manner that the clamping elements, in their center positions, form a circular curve in which the clamping element tips have a diameter dt greater than dw the inside diameter of the winding core.

  • Publication number: 20030116675
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a friction winding shaft (6, 7), in particular for roll cutting and winding machines (1), where the shaft frictionally engages tubular winding cores (16) for the winding of strip-shaped bands (5) or similar items. A plurality of winding rings (12) adjoin each other as disposed on a central drive shaft (8). In addition spring-biased winding core holders protrude from an outer ring surface (23) and are distributed over the ring surface in the form of clamping elements (25). The clamping elements are seated in recesses (29) of the rings (12) and are capable of pivoting around axes (32) that are parallel to the friction winding shaft axis (37). The recesses (29) are provided with stop surfaces (30, 31) on both sides to limit the pivoting movement.

  • Patent number: 5451010
Abstract: The instant invention relates to a friction winding shaft, in particular for roll cutting and winding machines with a central drive shaft (8) and fitted, adjoining rings (12) on which tubular winding cores (21) are held under pre-stress via winding core retainers 16. According to the invention, winding core supports (27, 28) which automatically press against the inside winding core surfaces (22) after the start of the winding process to provide firm support are proposed. This provides improved centering and alignment of the winding cores (21). For this purpose each ring (12) is divided concentrically into an inner friction ring (17) and an outer holding ring (18) capable of rotation relative to the former. The inner friction ring (17) is provided with a slanted guide (31, 36) through which a pressure rod (29) or a rotatable support element (32) can be extended into a position of contact against the inside winding core surface (22).

  • Patent number: 4232080
Abstract: A safety window comprises at least one sheet of glass, which may be tempered, and, on the side thereof facing a interior of the vehicle in which the window is to be mounted, a sheet of transparent plastic material bonded adhesively thereto, the plastic material possessing a high capacity of elastic deformation, a modulus of elasticity below 2,000 daN/cm.sup.2 and an elongation to rupture in excess of 60% with less than 2% plastic deformation, the plastic material having self-healing properties and capable of protecting occupants of the vehicle from being cut if said sheet of glass is broken.
