  • Patent number: 6176642
Abstract: A slalom gate comprises a pair of upright gate posts, a flag panel having two side edges and an upper edge, the side edges defining sleeve-like elements receiving the gate posts whereby the flat panel is held between the gate posts, two clamping devices affixing the upper edge of the flag to the gate posts, at least one of the clamping devices being separate from the flag panel, and an elongated rubber-elastic traction member connecting the flag panel at least at one of the gate posts to the separate clamping device.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 23, 2001
    Inventor: Hans Hinterholzer
  • Patent number: 5024551
Abstract: A pair of parallel slalom posts connected by a flag, which flag is connected by an elastic strip with one of the posts, and the other post is provided with a tilting joint. Thus, if a skier touches the post with the tilting joint, the post can bend without damage to the flag.

  • Patent number: 4871279
Abstract: A slalom post (1) is described comprising at least one eccentrically pivoted disc-like anchor element (5, 8) normally positioned substantially within the cross-sectional area of the lower end of the post. By simply twisting the slalom post (1) around its vertical longitudinal axis (4), the anchoring element (5, 8) is brought from its normal ineffective position into its effective anchoring position by rotation around a vertical axis offset and parallel to the vertical longitudinal axis of the slalom post. If desired, a roughened peripheral edge of the disc may be provided for engagement with the snow or ice into which the lower end of the post is placed so that the rotation of the post will rotate the disc-like anchoring element relative thereto to move it into its effective anchoring position.

  • Patent number: 4702639
Abstract: A slalom post (1) is described at the bottom end of which an anchoring element (3) shaped as a flange (3) is provided collaborating with a protection wedge (7). The flange (3) may be moved from a non-effective position when the flange (3) is within the profile of the protection wedge (7) into an effective position when it projects beyond the profile of the slalom post. In this way, a structurally simple, easily operable and very effective anchoring of the slalom post is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4174114
Abstract: A crossover preventer for skis comprises a base plate adapted to be mounted upon the upper surface of a ski and provided with an upwardly swingable barrier which, in its upright position, forms a stop to prevent overcrossing of one ski above the other. The barrier-forming element is swingably mounted on the base plate via a carrier body which is rotatable and shiftable relative to the base plate.

  • Patent number: 3953043
Abstract: A device for preventing the overcrossing of skis worn by a skier which includes a locking member pivotally mounted on a base plate secured to a ski, the locking member being yieldingly urged in one direction into an upstanding position against a stop on the base plate by a spring to form a barrier against overcrossing by an adjacent ski, the locking member being pivotally movable in the opposite direction against the force of the spring to release an overcrossed ski and disengageable from the stop for pivotal movement in the one direction into an overlying, storage position on the ski.
