    Abstract: Disclosed is a microfluidic biosensing system including a processor, in which a Raman barcode database corresponding to at least one Raman spectrum signal is stored, a plurality of Raman barcode beads mixed with a target fluid and coupled to at least one target bioparticle in the target fluid, a microfluidic channel disposed to make the target fluid mixed with the Raman barcode beads flow therethrough, a light source disposed on the microfluidic channel, and a spectral detection device connected to the processor and disposed to correspond to the light source. The spectral detection device receives the Raman spectrum signal generated when the target bioparticle coupled with the Raman barcode bead is irradiated, and transfers the received Raman spectrum signal to the processor. The processor determines a type of the bioparticle(s) and calculates the number of bioparticle(s) by matching the Raman spectrum signal(s) to the Raman barcode database.

    Abstract: A controller assembly for an automatic flush valve provides economical approach to transforming a manual flush valve into an automatic flush valve. The controller assembly includes a base for holding a battery set and a sensor into a combination, and a cap covering the combination. A solenoid valve and a membrane below the combination are receiving in a socket of a foundation. A ring is rotatably mounted around a bottom of the foundation. A sleeve passing the cap is mounted around the foundation and stands on the ring. The ring allows the controller assembly to be easily assembled with a valve body of any type into an automatic flush valve or to be easily removed from the automatic flush valve and replaced by a manual controller assembly so as to form a manual flush valve. Thereby, the transformation can be economical accomplished without replacing the existing valve body.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for coding depth data using inter-view motion prediction (IVMP) in a three-dimensional or multi-dimensional video coding system are disclosed. In one embodiment, the bit depth of the depth data associated with the current depth map is determined first and a converted disparity vector is derived from a selected depth value depending on the bit depth. A corresponding depth block in an inter-view reference depth map in a reference view is located using the converted disparity vector. The current depth block is then encoded or decoded using the corresponding depth block as an inter-view predictor.
