  • Patent number: 4645040
Abstract: An adjusting and centering contrivance for a servo brake including a U-shaped, fixed guide casing (1) and in the axial borings of which is journaled a slide-through lock that is mounted in an axially displaceable fashion out from a central position against the force of a centering spring (15). The slide-through lock comprises two threaded bolts (3) that are screwed into an adjustment tube (5). Firmly disposed, axially symmetrical hereto is an adjustment gear (17) and which engages an adjustment lever (19). The adjustment lever (19) that is pivotable about a bolt (21) and is swivelled outwardly and brought back to its initial position by means of a separate reset (return) spring via a stop (33) during a slide-through movement of the slide-through lock. In order to obtain an adjusting and centering contrivance with increased operation safety and performance without thereby enlarging the stressed structural space, return of the pivoting lever (19) is undertaken solely by means of the centering spring (15).

  • Patent number: 4625500
Abstract: The machine has a base with a yoke mounted thereon. Into the base is incorporated a band sliding device and on driving the same, a band which can be unwound from a supply reel is advanced for winding around a package located below the yoke. The end of the band is held in a joining station. The band sliding device drive is then reversed, so that the band is increasingly tightly engaged around the package and is tensioned with an adjustable force. This is followed by the joining of the band ends and the separation from the supply reel in the joining station. For setting the band tension, an electromagnetic clutch is used, in which the restoring force of the armature, which aids the release of the clutch, is produced by a magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 4584394
Abstract: New alkenylacyloxysilanes in which the acyloxy grouping is derived from benzoic acid and a method for making the new compounds are disclosed. The present invention also relates to the use of these new alkenylacyloxysilanes in making pressure-sensitive adhesives which are prepared by copolymerizing these new compounds with at least two other ethylenically unsaturated compounds. The crosslinking of these new pressure-sensitive adhesives is performed preferably with the aid of known crosslinking catalysts and/or by high-energy radiation.

  • Patent number: 4562225
Abstract: Thermosetting adhesive and sealing compositions are described, consisting of:(a) 70 to 95 wt.-% of polyesters with a glass transition temperature below 20.degree. C., mixed in some cases with a polycarboxylic acid anhydride,(b) 5 to 30 wt.-% of polyoxazolines which contain at least 2 oxazoline groups per molecule, the polyoxazolines being suspended in the polyesters,(c) 0 to 4 wt.-% of paraffin and(d) optionally additional 1 to 50 weight-percent of the total amount of the components, of reactive or nonreactive diluents and/or additives and/or fillers.

  • Patent number: 4487053
Abstract: A windshield wiper yoke and a method for producing same is described. The wiper yoke is formed from a single strip of sheet metal which is bent to have a U-shaped cross-section. The web of the yoke includes a plurality of slots each of which extends in width to or beyond the imaginary bending lines. With slots provided in accordance with the invention, the wiper yoke exhibits relatively good aerodynamic behavior at high vehicle speeds.

  • Patent number: 4474933
Abstract: The present invention relates to resin mixtures which are fluid at temperatures up to 100.degree. C. and which crosslink either at elevated temperature or under the influence of moisture. Thermal crosslinking takes place at temperatures of 100.degree. C. and up, preferably at about 120.degree. C. The mixtures contain one or more mutually compatible polymers containing hydroxyl groups, in which at least 5% and not more than 90% of the hydroxyl groups are replaced by alkoxysilyl groups. The introduction of the alkoxysilyl groups is accomplished by the reaction of a diisocyanate with a hydroxyl group on the polymer, on the one hand, and with an aminosilane or mercaptosilane ester on the other. On the basis of their fluid-to-viscous consistency at room temperature or moderately elevated temperature, the resins can be applied in a thin coating and easily crosslinked in situ.
