  • Patent number: 4589343
Abstract: The machine is intended for the displacement of open track sections and switch gear. For this purpose, it is provided, for each line of rails, with a shifting roller (17), a hook (11) for the lifting of the switch gears and roller (12) for the lifting of the open sections, these tools being mounted on a tool holder (9, 10) moved by lifting (22) and shifting (23) jacks connected to the chassis (3) of the machine. The lifting hook (11) and the lifting roller (12) are mounted movable in rotation in a plane parallel to the track around a shaft (29) and are moved around said shaft by a jack (32) having two end-of-stroke positions corresponding to the operating position of one and the other of these two tools respectively. Other mountings permitting similar effects are described.

  • Patent number: 4502391
Abstract: A railway track working machine is equipped with a device for blocking the suspension of its axles, which device comprises, for each axle box a movable support sliding in a vertical guide fixed to the machine chassis and vertically displaced by a rod of a jack. Restoring springs ensure that the movable support bears against the rod of said jack. The movable support comprises a vertical stop, a transverse stop and two longitudinal stops intercepting during and at the end of the travel of the jack bearing members integral with the axle box in order to immobilize the latter in the vertical, transverse and longitudinal directions with respect to the chassis. This device is suitable for machines whose tools are generators of reaction forces which are capable to displace the machine chassis with respect to the railway track in the three aforementioned directions.

  • Patent number: 4458600
Abstract: The tamping machine comprises, for each row of rails (6) a tamping unit (4) which is movable in the transverse direction of the track in order to tamp the track switches. The controlled transverse mobility of each tamping unit, to the right and the left of the line of rails, is obtained by the combination of a lever manual control member (26) and an automatic control circuit (38) which is controlled by two amplitude limiters (34, 36).A switch (32) makes it possible to change from manual to automatic and vice versa.By presetting the amplitude limiter at a value corresponding to a transverse position of the tamping unit which is repeated several times along the track switch, the positioning of the tamping unit is obtained by simple actuation of the switch upon arrival at these recurrent positions.

  • Patent number: 4342263
Abstract: The rail displacement device, suspended from the chassis of the machine, is composed of a support (8) for lifting hooks (17) for the rails, which support is articulated in an all-azimuth articulation in a joint (11), and of a support (13) with roller wheels (18) for the shifting of the rails, which support is articulated to the hook support. The two lifting hooks (17) are mounted in transversely adjustable position on a girder (9) of the hook support, which girder is connected to the chassis of the machine by two lifting jacks (20).The two shifting roller wheels (18) are mounted in fixed positions on a girder (14) of the roller wheel support which girder is connected to the chassis of the machine by two shifting jacks (21).These two girders are connected by two spacing-adjustment jacks (22).This device is suitable for tamping-leveling-straightening machines, for the open track and switch gear.

  • Patent number: 4184266
Abstract: A railway surveying apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus has a light beam transmitter for transmitting a beam along the track, a light beam receiver and an intermediate shadow board all mounted on respective rail-engaging buggies so that the transmitter, receiver and board are located on the center line of the track. The shadow board and receiver buggies are connected through a twist transducer that measures the relative angular positions of the buggies. A pendulum is mounted on the receiver buggy and serves to measure the actual rail cross level condition at that point. A pendulum on the transmitter buggy and appropriate circuitry can reference the apparatus to either the track center line or one of the rails.

  • Patent number: RE29437
Abstract: Apparatus for the vertical and lateral movement of a section of railway track. Gripping members are operated to grip the two lines of rails. The gripping members are mounted on at least one support frame connected by articulated connecting members to the chassis of a track maintenance vehicle movable on the track. The support frame is movable both vertically and laterally relative to the vehicle under the action of lifting members or lining members, to move said track section and to bring it into a predetermined reference position. The apparatus comprises in combination vertical and lateral support members connected to the support frame to guide the same and supported on at least one line of rails and guidance and control members for moving each gripping member relative to the support frame in directing both vertical and transverse to the track.
