  • Patent number: 4853121
Abstract: A chamber filter press including frameless chamber plates covered on both sides with filter clothes stretched thereover, wherein two adjacent chamber plates contact each other with an outer, continuous clamping rim and define a filter chamber, consisting of a central filter cake compartment lying between the filter cloths and two outer filtrate compartments lying between the plate and the filter cloth. Repressing devices for the filter cake are arranged in the zone of at least one of the two filtrate compartments of each filter chamber. The repressing devices are fashioned as distensible cushions suspended within at least one filtrate compartment of each filter chamber at the adjoining chamber plate by marginal suspension strips which keep open, at least at the lower edge of the distensible cushion. A liquid passage is provided between the half of the filtrate compartment on the filter cloth side and the half on the plate side.

  • Patent number: 4764273
Abstract: A filter press with central suspension of filter plates (5) is provided with a guide which ensures a flush alignment of adjacent filter plates, said guide lying outside the area affected by the filter medium, being integrated in a space-saving manner into the filter press, and permitting a certain amount of twisting or other overall adjustment of the filter plate package. For this purpose, the guide device is disposed on the filter plate suspension (9, 10, 18, 25) and is composed of at least one guide rod (19, 20) which is flexible to a limited elastic degree, and runs along guide members (1,2), and of at least one guide element (21, 22) for each filter plate (5) fitting around guide rod (19, 20), said elements being disposed on yoke piece (25) which supports rollers (19, 10) of the filter plate suspension.

  • Patent number: 4582530
Abstract: In the production of a vanadium group valve metal powder, especially tantalum, the reaction mixture of a double fluoride salt of the valve metal and metallic sodium and/or potassium is doped with sulfur before a melt cake is formed. The melt cake is then leached with water to eliminate central salts leaving the valve metal powder. The sulfur doping provides improved surface area and particle size characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4438489
Abstract: Interrupt requests of different priorities, presented by various interrupt sources (0 to 3), are transferred through control ST, in an associative storage and selection process, into preprocessing elements PE0 and PE1. These elements are variably assigned by controls ST to receive and preprocess requests of associated priority. The preprocessing generates a starting address of a program routine for servicing the respective request. This address is transferred to a common processor which executes the routine. The preprocessing elements can be structured to rapidly generate a succession of different starting addresses relative to several interrupt requests having the priority assigned to that element.

  • Patent number: 4229303
Abstract: A filter press provided with a spray cleansing device of the kind described in U.S. Pat. No. 4,107,042 granted Aug. 15, 1978 to wash filter plates of the press disposed in a stack on horizontal guides in which the spray device comprises a support frame which moves along the stack of plates on the horizontal guides. Two branch conduits of the device are fitted with nozzles and surround a plate being washed to spray wash the plate simultaneously from both sides. The specific improvement in the present invention comprises a novel spray water catch basin which has a width more than twice the spacing between the branch conduits. Movable segments on both sides of the catch basin are provided which may be pivoted about a perpendicular axis to adapt the catch basin to many locations along the filter press.

  • Patent number: 4172792
Abstract: The invention relates to a movable apparatus for removal of filter plates from a filter press, these plates resting on two horizontal guide carriers. The apparatus has a carriage, movable on the guide carriers, which has a driving apparatus for a driver means, in order to always pull off the outside filter plate from a pack of filter plates, and a bolt for holding back the remaining filter plates in the pack. The driver means and bolt are arranged in such manner that the driver means and bolt are movable up and down between a lower engaging position aligned with stops on the sides of the filter plates and an upper dis-engaging position away from such stops.

  • Patent number: 4172284
Abstract: A priority level controlled unit for use in a microprogrammed digital data processing system for handling interrupt requests from interrupt sources having different interrupt priority levels. Each interrupt request is a plural-bit request having a priority level field and an interrupt source identifying field. A plural stage shift register is provided, each stage having enough bit positions to hold a single interrupt request. Successive shift register stages are assigned to successively lower priority levels. The interrupt requests are supplied one at a time to the highest priority level stage in the shift register. A separate comparator mechanism, coupled to each shift register stage, compares the priority level field of an interrupt request residing therein with the priority level value assigned to such stage for indicating priority level matches and mismatches. If a priority level mismatch is indicated for any given stage, then the interrupt request therein is transferred to the next shift register stage.

  • Patent number: 4105558
Abstract: Apparatus for draining of muddy liquids, especially of sludges and slurries in sewage clarification plants, where first of all an ionic coagulant, eg., an anionic or cationic coagulating agent, is added to the muddy liquid in a first ionic coagulating means to obtain an aqueous sludge which is separated from the muddy liquid in a first coagulating chamber by sedimentation in a straining zone and wherein the aqueous sludge is subsequently filtered and pressed, whereafter the liquid is treated in a second coagulating or mixing chamber. The apparatus to carry out the process comprises in addition to the first coagulation chamber coagulation chamber for the muddy liquid, a revolving screening belt constituting the filtering means for the straining zone and a series connected revolving screen belt press which aids in dewatering the filtered solids.
