  • Publication number: 20110045226
Abstract: A coating arrangement has the following characteristics: -particles having a scratch hardness greater than or equal to 9 and a median grain size that can be determined, -a coating having a thickness equaling approximately half the median grain size, -a coating carrier with a surface comprising recesses, wherein a portion greater than 85% of the recesses compared to a surface surrounding the associated recess is designed with a depth smaller than approximately 10% and/or a opening width smaller than or equal to approximately 15% of the coating thickness, and -the coating is applied to the surface of the coating carrier and surrounds the particles at least at a lower region oriented toward the coating carrier.

  • Publication number: 20100244386
Abstract: A labyrinth seal includes a first disc and a second disc spaced axially from the first disc such that an axial intermediate chamber is formed between the first and the second discs. A first ring connected with the first disc so as to extend generally toward the second disc and into the axial chamber and second and third rings are each connected with the second disc so as to extend generally toward the first disc and into the axial chamber. The third ring is spaced radially outwardly from the second ring and the first ring being at least partially disposed radially between the second and third rings so as to form a sealing labyrinth. Preferably, each of the rings is cut from a common strip of material, bended to form a ring and welded to the associated disc.

  • Patent number: 7021167
Abstract: A rotary joint mechanism for connecting two machine parts to effect relative movement between the two machine parts includes an outer ring adapted to be connected to a rotatable machine part, and an inner ring adapted to be connected to a fixed machine part, with the outer ring being rotatable relative to the inner ring. The outer surface of the outer ring is provided with a mechanism for transferring force from at least one cable element to the outer ring to effect rotation of the outer ring relative to the inner ring.

  • Patent number: 6379051
Abstract: An annular ring used as either the outer race or the bearing race in a roller includes at least one annular recess in which is disposed an annular reinforcement body. The reinforcement body subjects the region of the annular ring radially inside the reinforcement body to mechanical stresses. The side of the reinforcement body oriented toward this region is materially joined or bonded to the ring. The annular reinforcement body preferably possesses an internal radius that is smaller than the internal radius of the recess and the reinforcement body press-fitted into the recess. According to one embodiment, the reinforcement body is poured in liquid form into the recess. The shrinkage of the reinforcement body that occurs during the cooling phase after solidification produces stresses as well.
