  • Publication number: 20170182554
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing ceramic and/or metallic components in which a support structure surrounding at least one free space is formed using a polymer and in which at least one free space is filled in at least one predefinable portion with a plastically deformable or liquid mixture of least one metal powder or ceramic powder and at least one organic binder. In this respect, the mixture contacts the wall of the structure at least in part. Subsequently, in a first thermal treatment, the mixture is transformed into a state having a sufficient strength for maintaining its geometrical shape and a temperature is observed in so doing at which the polymer forming the support structure remains stable in shape. Subsequently, in a second thermal treatment, the temperature is increased and in so doing the polymer forming the support structure is completely decomposed and the metal powder and/or ceramic powder is/are sintered.

  • Patent number: 9120269
Abstract: A device and a method are described for feeding a material layer onto a construction platform, or onto at least one material layer located on the construction platform, for producing an object, which is mounted to linearly move relative to a material reservoir and the construction platform along a motion plane. A circulating band is stretched around at least two molded bodies and contacts the molded bodies at least in segments. A drive circulates the band around the at least two bodies. The band has a band segment which can be fixedly in position relative to at least one body in the longitudinal section around the at least two molded bodies. At least the segments contact the material stored in the material reservoir during the linear motion from the material reservoir to the construction platform so that at least a part of the material is stripped off from the material reservoir and is applied as the material layer to the construction platform to compress the material layer.

  • Patent number: 8743667
Abstract: A thermally-assisted recording (TAR) disk drive operates by turning on write current prior to the application of heat to the recording layer by the near-field transducer (NFT). In a TAR disk drive that uses thermal fly-height control (TFC), TFC power is at a first power level that keeps the write pole at a predetermined fly-height. The write current is then turned on, either simultaneously with or after a reduction in TFC power. The write pole then reaches its optimal fly-height as a result of the combination of write pole protrusion caused by the write current and retraction of the write pole caused by the reduction in TFC power. After the write pole has reached its optimal fly-height, heat is applied to the recording layer by the NFT. The combination of write current and heat causes writing to occur at the optimal write pole fly-height.

  • Patent number: 8578963
Abstract: In a nonreturn valve having a tubular body, which can be installed in a vertical section of an exhaust line, a valve seat, formed within the tubular body, for at least one float, and at least one circumferential groove, which is open in the downstream direction, the intention is to make available a solution by means of which it is possible to provide a nonreturn valve that is simple, advantageous in terms of production engineering and has a particularly high performance, and to do so in a way which is simple in terms of design and is economical. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the circumferential rim of the at least one float projects radially over the radially inner circumferential wall section and has an axial lip facing upstream, which extends into the circumferential groove in the axial direction when the at least one float is resting on the valve seat.
