    Abstract: A side-viewing endoscope comprises an instrumentation channel (8) that forms an outlet opening in the operative region (distal end) and comprises a deflecting element (14) as well as an actuation means for the latter.In order to guarantee an axially suited power transmission in an optimum operative region, it is provided that the instrumentation channel (8) comprises a curved section (10) at the exit end and that the instrumentation channel (8) is directed toward the lateral wall of the endoscope in the operative region.
