Abstract: Hetero-substituted pyrid-4-one derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents an optionally substituted phenyl radical,R.sup.2 represents an alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl or dialkylamino radical, andR.sup.3 and R.sup.4, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, represent an optionally substituted heterocyclic radical,are novel, are produced as described and find use as herbicides, especially as selective herbicides for combating graminaceous weeds in crops such as cotton, wheat, soy beans and corn.

Abstract: A bissilylated 1-hydroxycyclopropanecarboxylic acid of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical, and additionally R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 can together form a 3- to 5-membered carbon bridge, andR.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 each independently is an alkyl radical, is produced by oxidizing with oxygen a cyclobutene-1,2-diol-bis-trialkyl-silyl ether of the formula ##STR2## The products, without isolation, may directly be hydrolyzed to remove the silyl radicals and form known intermediates for further reaction.

Abstract: Combating fungi with a trisubstituted benzyl oxime ether of the formula ##STR1## in which R is halogen, alkyl or halogenoalkyl,n is 1, 2 or 3, andX, Y and Z each independently is alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, or Y and Z together are methylenedioxy,or a physiologically acceptable acid-addition salt or metal-salt complex thereof.

Abstract: Fungicidally active novel spiro derivatives of 3-(3,5-dihalogenophenyl)-oxazolidine-2-thion-4-ones of the formula ##STR1## in which X and Y each independently is halogen, andn is 2 or 3,are produced by reacting an .alpha.-hydroxy-cycloalkylcarboxylic acid or acid ester of the formula ##STR2## in which R is hydrogen or alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms,(a) with an isothiocyanate of the formula ##STR3## or (b) with an aniline of the formula ##STR4## in the presence of a diluent, and then cyclizing the .alpha.

Abstract: A method of combating Botrytis fungi, comprising applying to such fungi, or to a habitat thereof to be protected against such fungus a fungicidally effective amount of a 1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-(2,6-dihalogenobenzyloximino)-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1- yl)-ethane of the formula ##STR1## in which X and Y each independently is halogen or a physiologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof. Those compounds in which X is chlorine or fluorine and Y is fluorine are new.

Abstract: Substituted spiro-derivatives of 3-(3,5-dihalogenophenyl)-oxazolidine-2,4-diones(thione-ones) of the formula ##STR1## in which A is oxygen or sulphur,X and Y each independently is halogen,Z each independently is alkyl or a fused cycloalkane or cycloalkene ring,m is 1, 2, 3 or 4, andn is 2 or 3.which possess fungicidal properties.
