Abstract: The invention relates to a silencer comprising an inner component and an outer component surrounding said inner component, said inner component defining an inner wall provided with openings and said outer component defining an outer wall extending along said inner wall. For improving the silencing characteristics as well as the flexibility of the silencer, the outer wall is implemented as a bellows which defines together with the inner wall individual cavities, the openings of the inner wall opening into said cavities. Furthermore, the outer wall is produced from a material having a density of at least 1.5 g/cm3.
