  • Patent number: 7295825
Abstract: A diversity antenna arrangement to reduce cost and the number of switching operations between different antennas includes an antenna changeover switch for switching between antennas, and an evaluation circuit for evaluating reception quality of a signal derived from a signal received from at least one of the antennas and conveyed to a receiving device via the antenna changeover switch. The evaluation circuit emits an evaluation signal based on the determined reception quality. A control device drives the antenna changeover switch based on the evaluation signal. A weighting device, using a first coefficient, weights the signal conveyed to the receiving device via the antenna changeover switch, and using a second coefficient, weights a signal received from at least one further antenna. A summing circuit adds the weighted signals. A regulating circuit generates the coefficients to minimize the temporal amplitude fluctuations of the composite signal, which is evaluated by the evaluation circuit.

  • Patent number: 6819294
Abstract: A vehicle antenna device ensures effective protection of a vehicle antenna from electrostatic discharges in a wheel bearing of the motor vehicle. The vehicle antenna device includes an electrically conducting structure which acts as an antenna in a fender which is separated from the vehicle interior by an electrically conductive body panel and is made of an electrically nonconducting material in the area of the structure. A shielding wall made of an electrically conductive material is provided, this wall being electrically conductively connected to the body panel and being situated between a wheel bearing and the electrically conducting structure.

  • Patent number: 6771057
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement and method for testing a radio receiving system, the circuit arrangement includes multiple antennas, an antenna selector switch for the antennas, a receiver, and a diversity processor that controls the antenna selector switch. A diagnostic processor has an output terminal connected to a control input of the diversity processor, which provides at its output terminal, a signal that prevents the diversity processor from performing any further switching operations.

  • Publication number: 20040027301
Abstract: A bumper antenna assemblage (1) that permits improved reception is proposed. The bumper antenna assemblage (1) comprises an antenna element (5) in a bumper (10) of a vehicle body (15), the antenna element (5) being constituted by an electrically conductive surface in the bumper (10). The electrically conductive surface (5) forms, on a side facing toward the vehicle body (15), a slot (20) with respect to the body panel (25). An antenna terminal (30, 35, 40, 45) is provided at at least two different points on the electrically conductive surface (5).

  • Publication number: 20030181222
Abstract: A diversity antenna arrangement (100) is proposed, which makes it possible to reduce the number of switching operations between different antennas while having the lowest possible expense for components. The diversity antenna arrangement (100) includes an antenna changeover switch (20) for switching between different antennas (11, 12). The diversity antenna arrangement (100) also includes an evaluation circuit (5) for evaluating the reception quality of the signal that is derived from a received signal (24, 25) of at least one of the antennas (11, 12), the signal being conveyed to a receiving device (4) via the antenna changeover switch (20). The evaluation circuit (5) also functions to emit an evaluation signal that is generated as a function of the determined reception quality. In addition, a control device (6) is provided, which drives the antenna changeover switch (20) as a function of the evaluation signal.

  • Patent number: 6593889
Abstract: An antenna system is described having at least one LMK antenna which is arranged on a window or another non-conducting part of a motor vehicle and has an antenna capacitance Ca, and an antenna booster for the LMK reception. The antenna is characterized in that the distance of the antenna conductor(s) to the parts surrounding the LMK antenna is selected in such a way that the value of the harmful capacitance Ca of the LMK antenna, which is essentially formed by the capacitance between the antenna conductors and the conductive parts surrounding the antenna, is selected to be greater than the value at which the maximum antenna output voltage results, and the value of the harmful capacitance Ca is selected such that, by increasing the source capacitance of the antenna booster, the signal-to-noise ratio is optimized in the lower LMK range.

  • Patent number: 5379452
Abstract: In an active circuit which separates and amplifies signals received via an antenna (A) into a higher-frequency FM band and a lower-frequency FM band, weakening of the FM signals by the AM-band amplifier is avoided by adding, to the previously known circuit which has first, second, and third capacitors (C1, C2, C3), a third inductance (L3) between the second (C2) and third (C3) capacitors, and by removing any serial inductance from the adaptor or matching circuit (AP) at the input of the FM amplifier stage (UKW).

  • Patent number: 4514670
Abstract: A commutator-type d-c motor has its line current connected through a sensing resistor (18) or transformer (18'), the pulses of which, upon energization, are counted in a counter (C) and also passed to a speed sensing circuit (S) in a control circuit (30), energization of the motor being disconnected if the frequency of undulations or waviness of the motor current drops, thus indicating that the positioned element, for example an antenna, window, or sliding roof of an automobile has reached a limiting position. The counter can be used to establish intermediate positions, upon suitable control by a selector switch (27) or a reference count number stage (C-Ref) controlled, for example, by a potentiometer (P) or from the selector switch (27). A timing circuit (T) prevents short-circuit through the motor upon manual sudden reversal of command of direction of rotation.
