  • Patent number: 4667982
Abstract: A safety belt system comprising a belt displacer for a belt which is so constructed as to transport a section of the safety belt between a retracted position and a seizing position for purposes of facilitating fastening of the belt, is provided for its use with a three-point safety belt, in which the belt ends are attached at the seat bearer respectively at the seat on one side of the seat and run over a belt base point and a belt shoulder point. The belt displacer includes a belt deflection element which within the area between the belt ends engages at the belt and is displaceable along the belt. In the seizing position of the belt displacer, the belt buckle to be inserted into the belt lock is arranged within the area of the belt deflection element and can therefore be easily reached. As soon as the belt buckle is inserted into the belt lock, the belt displacer travels back into the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 4632426
Abstract: An installation for adjusting a safety belt hinge point in a vehicle with a slide member determining the hinge point and displaceable along a rail and with a detent mechanism selectively fixing the slide member at the rail 30 in at least two detent positions; the detent mechanism includes a detent element which engages in detent apertures of the rail and is prestressed by a spring into the detent position; the detent element and the actuating handle for the actuation of the detent element which is coupled with the detent element, are displaceable in different directions and are coupled with each other by a guide element 52 providing a step-down translation. An increased prestress force on the detent element with an actuating force for the handle that remains the same, is achieved thereby together with a mechanically simple construction.

  • Patent number: 4597607
Abstract: An arrangement for locking an entrainment member for a safety belt at a cassette, in which the entrainment member is adjustable along a guide profile by a pressure-resistant cable; an adjustable locking member engaging the entrainment member is thereby supported in the cassette, which is constructed tubularly-shaped and in one piece; an insert member is detachably secured in the cassette, which consists in particular of plastic material--preferably of a polyacetyl--or of a die-cast metal--preferably of aluminum--and which form-lockingly surrounds the free end of the guide profile.

  • Patent number: 4575120
Abstract: An installation in a passive safety belt actuating mechanism for the displacement of an entrainment member for a safety belt and of an unlocking element for unlocking the entrainment member from a locking mechanism, along a guide profile by means of an elongated flexible member extending in a guide profile, on which the entrainment member is secured for limited longitudinal displacement while the unlocking element is non-displaceably secured thereon; the elongated flexible member consists of a cable rigid in tension and compression with a plastic sleeve which is removed in the longitudinal displacement section of the entrainment member and in a fastening area of the unlocking element adjoining the same.

  • Patent number: 4456283
Abstract: A positionally adjustable holding device for an engaging member of a safety belt includes a holding track with an elongated slot formed in one wall of the track. Outwardly extending bulges are located at spaced locations along the slot. An engaging member is arranged to be connected to one end of the safety belt and a sliding member is coupled to the engaging member. The sliding member includes a retractable locking pin which is selectively engageable in the bulges or recesses in the slot.

  • Patent number: 4362321
Abstract: A device for passive actuation of a safety belt includes a motor-driven force transmission member. An engaging member for the safety belt can be connected to the force transmission member by a manually releasable pin member. The force transmission member moves the engaging member and with it the safety belt into a locked position. The locked position can be released automatically or manually. The engaging member can be moved manually along the force transmission member when the driving connection is released.

  • Patent number: 4354696
Abstract: A device for passive actuation of a safety belt includes an elongated force transmission member with an engaging member secured to the transmission member so that a certain amount of play is present in the elongated direction between the transmission member and the engaging member. A locking device is arranged to receive and secure the engaging member in the locked position. A release member is secured to the force transmission member so that it moves with the transmission member while the transmission member moves relative to the engaging member whereby the release member can contact and displace the locking device out of locking contact with the engaging member. With the engaging member released from the locked position when the certain amount of play is traversed by the force transmission member, the transmission member carries the engaging member along with it.
