  • Patent number: 10112641
Abstract: A guide tube (4) for the rotatable mounting of a steering spindle (2) of a motor vehicle is described, wherein the guide tube (4) is rolled cylindrically from a single sheet-metal section and is connected at an axial contact point (12), and wherein the guide tube (4) has elements (13-15) for the definably axially displaceable fastening in a bearing unit (1). The guide tube (4) is characterized in that the elements (13-15) are designed in the form of at least two beads (13) which are distributed over the circumference, run axially, are formed circumferentially on both sides by ribs (14, 15) expanding the cylinder circumference and are formed in the sheet-metal section. • Patent number: 7392683
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a rolled edge from an edge section (11) of a tube, wherein a flanging die is driven onto the edge section and flanges it into a roll. According to the invention, an initial area (14) of the edge section (11) is previously rolled in a positive fit manner by means of a forcibly controlled tool (30). This prevents buckling of the initial area (14), which has a controlled geometry as a result of rolling. The novel method is preferably used in the production of valve seats in so-called aerosol domes (10) for spray cans.

  • Patent number: 7019251
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing lamella packets (e.g. 70) such as those used for adjustable steering columns in automobiles. According to the invention, at least one of the lamellae (e.g. 71) is provided with a collar (71.1) and is joined to another lamella (e.g. 72) so that the collar (71.1) of the first lamella (71) is supported against the other lamella (72) whereby defining the width (B) of a space between the lamellae (71, 72). Both lamellae (71, 72) are welded at at least one location of the collar (71.1). The welding is preferably carried out by resistance welding. In order to obtain defined ratios, the edge of the lamella collar (71.1) is preferably provided with projecting points (Z). The method is, among other things, advantageous in that the same material quality can be used for all lamellae (1–74).

  • Patent number: 6810574
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing lamella packets (60, 70) of the type normally used in adjustable steering columns in automobiles and which comprise a soft lamella (71) made of soft sheet metal material and at least one layered hard lamella (71) placed on top of said material. The lamella (71, 74) are connected by at least one rivet made of soft lamella (71). The method is characterized by the use of presses (110, 120) positioned one after the other. A soft lamella (71) is formed and stamped out of a strip (111) of said softer material in the first press (110) at a rate dictated by the press (110). Soft lamella (71) produced in this matter are transported to the second press (120). At least one hard lamella (72, 74) is completely formed in a second press (120) from a band (121) of harder sheet material and then stamped. Said hard lamella is placed over a soft lamella (71) and a rivet connection is produced.

  • Patent number: 6505856
Abstract: A steering device for motor vehicles has a steering shaft that is guided by a guide box (3) which is connected to a retaining console and, for example, clamped. The console has at least one sliding surface (8) along the axis of the shaft (1) which allows for a displacement path (20) with respect to the chassis (18) in case of a collision. A clamp (17) is provided for axial retention of the console (6) in an initial position of the displacement path (20). In this way at least one part of the clamped surface is slanted in relation to the vertical clamping device so that the clamping surfaces can move away from each other when the steering shaft is displaced and clamping is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5915682
Abstract: A sheet feeder system for a sheet-fed printing press includes a device for causing a sheet pile to sag at least partly in at least an upper region thereof, and at least two contact elements disposed in mutually spaced-apart relationship on an upper side of the sheet pile and having respective contact surfaces for pressing against the upper side of the sheet pile at least partly or temporarily, at least one of the contact elements being drivable so as to move the respective contact surfaces pressing against the upper side of the sheet pile towards and away from one another, respectively, for forming an interspace between the uppermost sheet of the sheet pile and a sheet immediately therebelow, and a method for individually separating sheets.

  • Patent number: 5802221
Abstract: Punched and bent parts (1, 2, 3), manufactured by non-cutting shaping, are assembled to a rigid box by using exclusively mutual riveting, optionally in part also spot welding, of the material of the punched and bent parts, thus without any additional material requirements. The parts (13) serving for bearing the steering shaft (15) are high precision pieces also obtained by non-cutting shaping. A very efficient, high precision manufacturing is thus achieved free from any finishing treatment and without auxiliary means for the connection of the punched and bent parts.

  • Patent number: 5445305
Abstract: Method and device for feeding a band or web into a downstream machine, including two grips that serve for the stepwise advancing of the band, the grips moving in synchronism to and fro in opposing directions. The grips are alternately coupled with the band or web each during its course in a determined direction in order to impart to the latter a zigzag advancing motion. The driving frequency of the advancing device is in this case half as high as the cadence of the following tool and very high cadences can be achieved.
