Patent number: 8365760Abstract: A slide valve for blocking a line conveying media includes a housing having a passage opening and a slider plate moveable within the housing at right angles to the passage opening. The slider plate can be displaced from an open position into a closed position blocking the passage opening tightly by a drive mechanism. A lateral seal is disposed in a respective groove in the housing above the passage opening on both sides of the slider plate at right angles to its direction of displacement. The inside and outside of the housing and the slider plate are provided with at least one layer forming a temperature barrier, and the lateral seal includes a high temperature-resistant layer or sealing compound. The risk of a leak into the atmosphere and/or in the passage during a fire or during extinguishing efforts is thus substantially reduced.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2010Date of Patent: February 5, 2013Assignee: SISTAG AG AbsperrtechnikInventor: Hans-Jorg Sidler

Patent number: 8327870Abstract: A slide valve for blocking a line conveying media includes a multi-part housing having a passage opening and in which a slider plate operable by a drive component is moved longitudinally. To both sides of the slider plate, laterally to its direction of movement, a respective longitudinal seal is disposed above the passage opening in a longitudinal groove in the housing. Each longitudinal seal has an elastic sealing profile and bars adjacent to the latter. Each elastic sealing profile is preferably provided on the front side with two sealing lips spaced apart from one another, touching the slider plate, and in the central region with groove-shaped chambers on both sides.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2010Date of Patent: December 11, 2012Assignee: SISTAG AG AbsperrtechnikInventor: Hans-Jorg Sidler

Patent number: 8235355Abstract: A slide valve, in particular for blocking a line conveying media, is provided with a multi-part housing (2) having a passage opening (3). Disposed in this housing (2) are two slider plates (4, 5), parallel to one another, moveable at right angles to the passage opening (3), and which can be moved from an open position into a closed position tightly blocking the passage opening (3) by means of a common drive mechanism (10). Means are provided for connecting the two slider plates (4, 5) to one another and to the drive mechanism (10), and which in the closed position allow a pre-determined relative movement of the slider plates (4, 5) in relation to one another in their direction of movement. Thus, even with tolerance deviations with regard to the slider plates and/or their counter-surfaces, a long-lasting blocking function of both slider plates is guaranteed.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2010Date of Patent: August 7, 2012Assignee: SISTAG AG AbsperrtechnikInventor: Hans-Jörg Sidler

Publication number: 20110001076Abstract: A slide valve, in particular for blocking a line conveying media, is provided with a housing (2) having a passage opening (3) and with a slider plate (4) moveable within the housing (2) at right angles to the passage opening (3). The latter can be displaced from an open position into a closed position blocking the passage opening (3) tightly by means of a drive mechanism (10). A lateral seal (20) is respectively disposed in a respective groove (20?) in the housing (2) above the passage opening (3) on both sides of the slider plate (4) at right angles to its direction of displacement. The inside and outside of the housing (2) and the slider plate (4) are provided with at least one layer forming a temperature barrier, and the lateral seal comprises a high temperature-resistant layer or sealing compound. Publication number: 20100224815Abstract: A slide valve, in particular for blocking a line conveying media, comprises a multi-part housing (13, 14) having a passage opening (12) and in which a slider plate (15) operable by a drive component is moved longitudinally. To both sides of the slider plate (15), laterally to its direction of movement, a longitudinal seal (20) is respectively disposed above the passage opening in a longitudinal groove (17) in the housing (13, 14). This longitudinal seal (20) respectively has an elastic sealing profile (21) and bars (22) adjacent to the latter. The respective elastic sealing profile (21) is preferably provided on the front side with two sealing lips (23) spaced apart from one another, touching the slider plate (15), and in the central region with groove-shaped chambers (25) on both sides.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 4, 2010Publication date: September 9, 2010Applicant: SISTAG AG AbsperrtechnikInventor: Hans-Jörg Sidler

Patent number: 7014164Abstract: A shut-off device (1) for protection against explosions in a pipe-line is fitted with a slide valve plate (10) movable transversely to the direction of flow (A). The slide valve plate is connected via a piston rod (25, 26) to a piston (27, 28) slidably guided in a cylinder (35, 36) and actuated by a pressure medium. The pressure medium is supplied from a pressure medium reservoir via a closing valve (45) to a working chamber (46, 47) of the cylinder (35, 36), thereby actuating the piston and causing the slide valve plate (10) to move into a position closing the pipe passage (4). At least one cylinder (35, 36) is arranged within a pressure chamber (40) enclosed by a housing (30), which forms the pressure medium reservoir. Thus, a compact, space-saving shut-off device is created which can be shut within a very short time.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2003Date of Patent: March 21, 2006Assignee: SISTAG AbsperrtechnikInventor: Hans Jörg Sidler

Patent number: 6010112Abstract: A driving device for a shut-off device in a pipe-line includes a piston/cylinder unit able to be connected to a slide valve plate of the shut-off device. A working chamber of the unit is connected with the interposition of a closing valve to a pressure medium reservoir. The pressure medium reservoir has an outlet opening connected virtually directly to an opening leading into the working chamber. The closing valve is constructed so that a very short closing time of the slide valve plate connected to the piston of the unit is achieved. The opening is provided in a head of the cylinder and opens into the working chamber. The opening can be closed by a valve disc of the closing valve. An annular chamber follows the valve disc on the side remote from the opening. The pressure medium of the pressure medium reservoir arrives in the chamber. After closing, the driving device can be reused without need of exchanging a deformed part.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 1998Date of Patent: January 4, 2000Assignee: Sistag AbsperrtechnikInventor: Hans Jorg Sidler

Patent number: 5549278Abstract: A parallel-slide gate valve with a sealing liner in two parts, comprises a semicircular lower housing part which can also be used as a mounting segment (30), and an upper housing part (31). The sealing liner (5) is also in two parts, wherein a transverse seal (20) which is subsequently compressible in operation is insertable in the liner stem (6). The assembly and dismantling of the parallel-slide gate valve can thus be effected in the direction of movement of the slide gate, and considerably ease the installation in relation to liner replacement. The mounting segment (30) can remain bolted to the pipe flanges when replacing the sealing liner (5), to align the pipe ends. The assembly is simplified in every respect, and all operating functions are optimally ensured.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1994Date of Patent: August 27, 1996Assignee: SistagInventor: Hans-Jorg Sidler
