  • Patent number: 5144646
Abstract: An x-ray diagnostics installation has an image intensifier video chain with a detector for obtaining an actual value of the brightness of a dominant region within the image at the output screen of the x-ray image intensifier, this actual value being compared with a rated value for controlling the overall brightness of the image. For this purpose, the output image of x-ray image intensifier is directed onto a chip having electrically driveable micromirrors, which can be individually driven, so that by selected individual drive of the micromirrors the individual micromirrors can be oriented as needed to direct a selectable image portion onto a light detector, for use in controlling the brightness.

  • Patent number: 5081663
Abstract: An x-ray apparatus including an x-ray source with a primary radiation diaphragm attached thereto has a luminescent foil disposed in the interior of either the x-ray source or the primary radiation diaphragm at a location so that the x-ray beam is incident thereon. Interaction of the luminescent foil with the x-ray beam causes the foil to emit light, which is conducted to an exterior of the apparatus by an optical waveguide. The light is therefore visible at a location at the exterior of the unit, such as in the housing, as a reliable indicator that x-rays are actually being generated.

  • Patent number: 5078032
Abstract: A device for cutting wire which includes at least one rotating knife supported on a rotating knife carrier and a counter-tool. The counter-tool includes a cutting blade rotating about a vertical first axis and having a central opening therethrough and adapted to receive the wire to be cut therethrough. The knife carrier is rotatingly supported about a second axis which is parallel with respect to the first axis, and the knife is guided along the cutting blade past the central opening to cut the wire thereat.

  • Patent number: 4943988
Abstract: An x-ray diagnostics installation having an image intensifier video chain which back-projects a region of primary medical interest within an x-ray image into the overall video image is provided with fiber optics and opto-electronic transducers which are actuated by a switching bank in accordance with the desired shape and position of the region of primary interest. The transducers and switching arrangment can be removed, so that the output image from the x-ray image intensifier can be viewed at the output side of the fiber optics.

  • Patent number: 4907252
Abstract: A medical examination system includes components for generating an internal image of a patient, such as an x-ray image, and components for generating an image of the external surface of at least a portion of the patient. The signals obtained from the surface scan of the patient are used to control the positioning of other components, such as the patient support and/or the primary radiation diaphragm. The internal and surface images can be compared to achieve precise positioning of the patient and/or a setting of the primary radiation diaphragm to avoid blooming.
