  • Patent number: 9328236
Abstract: The present invention relates to a resol resin consisting of at least one aromatic component with a phenolic OH group and at least one aldehyde component, wherein areas embedded in the resol resin matrix consisting of organically-modified polysiloxane, with said polysiloxane containing hydrocarbon groups that are at least partially bonded to said silicon in the form of non-substituted or substituted alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, arylalkyl or alkyl-aryl groups and that are not linked by covalent bonds to reactive groups of said resol resin. The invention additionally relates to molded articles manufactured from said resin, composites from a sheet material impregnated with said resin, which was subsequently hardened, as well as methods for manufacturing said resin, said molded articles, and said composites.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 5, 2012
Date of Patent: May 3, 2016
Assignee: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Foerderung der angewandten Forschung e.V.
Inventors: Monika Bauer, Hans-Juergen Glasel, Daniel Decker

  • Patent number: 6699586
Abstract: Organosilicon nano/microhybrid systems or microhybrid systems having nanoscale and/or microscale oxide particles (KA—O), and an organosilicon shell with at least one organosilicon constituent of the general formula Ia wherein the organosilicon constituent of the shell B is attached to the oxide particles via one or more covalent linkages of formula Ib A process for preparing a composition comprising organosilicon nano/microhybrid systems or microhybrid systems directly in a synthetic resin composition allows in situ preparation of a curable resin. The compositions may be used as coating materials for producing scratch resistant and abrasion resistant coatings.

  • Patent number: 6663952
Abstract: The invention relates to a stratified material with a coating which is deposited on one side or both sides and which is comprised of a planar substrate containing acrylate. The synthetic resin is modified by means of high-temperature resistant, polymerizable nanoparticles having a glass transition temperature of the homopolymerizates ≧150 ° C. Said nanoparticles comprise a core consisting of silicon dioxide and of at least one side chain which is covalently bound to the core via one or several oxygen atoms of the oxide, and which is of the formula (MeO)x(Me—(CH2)n—(OCO)m—CR1═CH2)y, wherein Me represents Si or Al, x is 1 to 3, m is 0 and 1, n is 0 to 6, y is 1 to 3 and R represents H or CH3, whereby the free valences of Me represent a binding to another oxygen atom of the core or are saturated by alkoxy radicals.
