Abstract: A process of producing a battery having a housing and a three-dimensional electrode-separator assembly includes at least one first electrode, at least one second electrode having the opposite polarity to the first, at least one separator physically separating the first electrode and the second electrode and optionally at least one power outlet lead arranged therein is described. The assembly is built up in layers by sequentially printing two-dimensional layers of a first electrode dispersion to produce the at least one first electrode and/or a second electrode dispersion to produce the at least one second electrode and/or a separator dispersion to produce the at least one separator and/or at least one power outlet lead dispersion to produce the at least one power outlet lead on top of one another.
