  • Patent number: 5374081
Abstract: A motor vehicle having exterior lateral side rails in the area of a passenger compartment has additional side rails which adjoin in the forward structure of the vehicle and/or in the rearward structure of the vehicle, which side rails are provided in particular with a right-angle bend. The elements which reinforce the vehicle body are connected with the side rails, on the one hand, and/or an underbody or underbody components, on the other hand. The reinforcing element has a first V-shaped strutting which extends in a horizontal plane in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is connected with a second-V-shaped strutting. This strutting is arranged in an approximately vertical transverse plane, in which case the first strutting, by its free ends, is fastened to the side rails and by its other ends, is fastened to the second strutting in a common connecting area. This second strutting is supported on the side rails by its free ends.

  • Patent number: 5100247
Abstract: A wheel bearing for wheels of motor vehicles comprises a bearing or ball roller bearing which is connected with a wheel carrier and, in a holding manner, receives a wheel hub fastened by a clamping device. The wheel hub is axially supported on the ball bearing and extends by via a tube-shaped projection to a first bearing ball in the bearing where a clamping bolt, which is axially supported on the ball bearing, stands opposite the wheel hub. This clamping bolt, by a bearing sleeve, extends to the tube-shaped projection and receives it in a torsion-proof manner by way of a centric pin. This results in the advantages that the assembly or the clamping takes place only from the exterior side of the vehicle and, in the case of a demounting, the hub part can easily be pulled out of the ball bearing after the loosening of the nut.

  • Patent number: 4923209
Abstract: A wheel suspension for a powered front axle of a motor vehicle comprises a stabilizer held at the body which, via a joint, is connected with a suspension gear linkage and, via another joint, is connected with a wheel carrier. The suspension linkage consists of an arm which is constructed in the shape of a semicircle, is adjusted in longitudinal direction of the vehicle and the one joint of which, on the wheel carrier side, is arranged above an axis of rotation of the wheel, in an axis of inclination formed by an upper spring strut support bearing and a lower transverse link bearing. The arm, between the two joints, forms a semicircular clearance for a transversely extending wheel drive shaft which extends at a distance from the arm in vertical and longitudinal direction.
