  • Patent number: 8061574
Abstract: An apparatus for setting fastening elements (5) has a feed drive (21), by means of which the connecting elements (5) can be fed to an installation position, and a setting device which has a setting tool and by means of which a fastening element (5) arranged in the installation position can be ejected to come into engagement with a support part. Also present is a drive mechanism, which is provided with a drive motor that has a rotatable drive shaft (13) and is coupled via a transmission arrangement (14, 15, 16, 17, 18) to the feed drive (21) and the setting device (30), and with a control arrangement for setting the direction of rotation of the drive shaft (13). In one direction of rotation of the drive shaft (13), the transmission arrangement (14, 15, 16, 17, 18) couples the drive motor (12) to the feed drive (21), and in the other direction of rotation of the drive shaft (13), it couples the drive motor (12) to the setting device. The apparatus is therefore relatively easy to handle.

  • Publication number: 20110100848
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for holding elements (1) in a successive arrangement in the longitudinal direction in holding units (5). The holding units (5) are inseparably connected to edge strips (2, 3) via connecting webs (7). The elements (1) are arranged releasably in the holding elements (5). Thus the device can be reused and can be again equipped with elements (1) after removing the elements (1) from the holding units (5).

  • Patent number: 6604692
Abstract: A heatable windshield washer nozzle is designed for mounting on the windshield wiper of a motor vehicle. The washer nozzle has a housing with a connection adapter. This connection adapter connects to a spray water hose that is electrically heatable via cables or woven wires molded into it. The ends of the heating cables are electrically bridged across just before the end of the hose. The housing is further equipped with a chamber for receiving a nozzle body and a heating plate above the nozzle body. A cover closes the chamber. The nozzle body is a flat chip with several channels fanning outward from a central water input opening. A bar is formed on the rim of the heating plate, which completely covers the surface of the nozzle chip. This bar extends along the connection adapter, so that when the heated spray water hose is slipped onto the connection adapter, the ends 23 of the heating cables extend over the bar of the heating plate without making direct contact.

  • Patent number: 6557726
Abstract: The present invention provides an arrangement of fastening elements for holding bundles retained by cable ties, and a method therefor. The arrangement of elements includes a pair of strips removably attached to a sequence of fastening elements, whereby the pair of strips facilitate the transport, readying, and positioning of each fastening element prior to interaction with the cable tie. Also provided is a method for molding the arrangement of cable ties in which the cable ties are advantageously used for retaining bundles of cables, pipes, and similarly elongated items.

  • Patent number: 6536807
Abstract: A detachable coupling includes a housing having wall, an end that has an inner wall, and a receiving space that has an opening in the end. The opening and the receiving space receives a tubular insertion part that has a retaining rib. An indicating part is removably mounted to the end of the receiving housing and includes a support ring and a lever. The lever has a free end and a inner end and is pivotally mounted to the support ring and extends into the receiving space. A support projection is positioned on the inner end of the lever and contacts the inner wall. Insertion of the tubular insertion part causes the retaining rib to contact the free end of the lever and results in the pivoting of the lever. Pivoting of the lever disengages the support projection from the inner wall and dismounts the indicating part from the housing.

  • Patent number: 6520424
Abstract: The inventive windscreen washer jet is used for spraying front or rear windscreens of automobiles and consists of the following: a housing (1) with a connector tube (2) for the spray water and a chamber (3) for integrating a jet chip (4). Said chip has a central opening through which the water flows (5) and from which several semicircular channels (6) are guided outwards in a fan shape. The channels (6) formed in the chip (4) are open towards one end and are blocked off by the chamber walls after the jet has been inserted, so that they are watertight. The channels (6) are formed in the chip (4) in such a way that the width (b) of the channel narrows towards the discharge area and they have a depth of 0.1 to max. 0.2 mm and a width of 0.2 mm to max. 0.4 mm at the discharge end. This ensures that the water jet is discharged at high speed and is therefore able to wet the vehicle windscreen more effectively.

  • Patent number: 6513555
Abstract: A device for binding bundles of cables uses a continuously fed cable tie to bind the cables. The cable tie is wound around the bundle of cables by guide claws. The cable tie is secured by a latching lock which can be positioned in front of the guide claws. The cable tie is then cut off in a non-tensioned state behind the latching lock. While bundling the cables, a fastener can be positioned at the bundling location next to the latching lock if necessary. The fastener is configured so as to anchor the loom of cables to a support element. A carriage which can be shifted in the binding device, positions the latching locks and fasteners. The carriage includes holding jaws and a carrier which clutches the locks and fasteners fed from above. The carriage carries the parts to the outlet of the device at the transition area to the guide claws of the device. A feed channel is provided in the carriage.

  • Patent number: 6221195
Abstract: A device for automatically placing fastening bolts on support surfaces. The fastening bolts (1) have a disc plate (5) covered on their bottom side with a dry, hot-melt-type adhesive (6) receivable by heat application. The device consists of an elongated housing (3) having a bolt-catching device and a bolt feeding channel (37), which is connected to a flexible feeding tube (4) on an end projecting out of the housing. The adhesive bolts (1) with disc plate (5) are fed by air pressure into the housing (3) and through the bolt feeding channel (37) to the catching device (56, 57). There is a cylinder (11) with an induction coil (27) at the end of the bolt feeding channel (37). Upwardly from the inductor are means to press the adhesive bolts (1), which are inside the inductor (11), in the assembly position (29) on the supporting surfaces (2).

  • Patent number: 6082779
Abstract: A releasable connector for connecting tubing such as used in fuel lines has a display member to indicate when positive locking has occurred. The display member member is attached to the outside of the housing of the connector. The display member has a strap supporting a cover portion. The cover portion has a pair of resilient flanges which are insertable into an opening in the housing of the connector. The flanges extend into a chamber to engage an annular ring of a conventional male tube end. The annular portion of the tube end displaces the flanges of the display member after passing through a locking member contained in the housing of the connector. In this way, the tamper indicator indicates that the tube end has been positively received in the locking position.

  • Patent number: 5756185
Abstract: A gluable fixing element for holding structural or functional components to essentially flat surfaces of carrier parts. It consists of a bonding portion for producing an adhesive bond with the surface of the carrier part and at least one further holding portion for producing a positive or non-positive connection with the component. The bonding portion has a bonding surface which is provided with a curable and/or crosslinkable, reactive hot-melt adhesive that when dry is wear-resistant and non-adhesive at temperatures up to 80.degree. C. but that can be reactivated within a very short time when heated by thermal or other energy to a temperature sufficient to melt the adhesive to produce a durable adhesive bond between the element and the carrier parts.
