  • Patent number: 6286153
Abstract: A waterless urinal (1) is provided with a pot (17) in which urine (35) accumulates. A float (33) floats on the urine (35) and is pressed upwardly by the buoyancy thereof against an opening (31) in the cover (29) of the pot (17). As soon as a pre-determinable column of urine rises above the float (33), the float (33) is pressed downwardly, and the urine (35) can flow out. In a preferred embodiment, the float (33) can be pulled downwardly by an electromagnet, in order to sporadically empty the urine (35), which has accumulated above the float (33) and the cover (29).

  • Patent number: 4765314
Abstract: A device for introducing an endoscope or a surgical tool into body cavities with a feed for a flushing medium and an extractor for said flushing medium, which permits as versatile as possible an application of the endoscope or tool and maintains a higher pressure in the interior of the body as compared with the environment. The device includes a sluice, insertable into the body cavity from outside. The sluice has a cylindrical stem along whose inner wall extend two separate longitudinal grooves which have openings at their ends which pass through the wall of the stem. The openings outside the body are connected to the feed and the extractor for the flushing medium. A cylindrical endoscope or tool is inserted into the device with its outer wall tightly contacting the inner wall of the stem. The outer wall of the endoscope or tool, together with the longitudinal grooves of the stem, form sealed channels for the flushing medium.

  • Patent number: 4649423
Abstract: A method and circuit arrangement for selective correction of hues and colors in the production of color separations for polychromatic mixed printing. A hue signal identifying the hues of the scanned colors as well as a color saturation signal and a luminance signal are derived from the measured color value signals acquired when scanning the original. Hue signals, color saturation signals and luminance signals are limited such that they are respectively not equal to zero only for selectable regions. The region of the hue signal defines a hue to be selectively corrected, and all three regions of the signals define a color to be selectively corrected. At least one of the limited signals is combined with at least one of the unlimited signals to form the selective correction signals which are superimposed on the color signals to be corrected.

  • Patent number: 4493985
Abstract: A welding sleeve for connecting pipes formed of thermoplastic material includes an electrical conductor in the form of an electrical resistance wire. The resistance wire extends around the sleeve and has a pair of opposite ends for conveying current through the wire. The opposite ends of the wires can be connected directly to a source of electrical current, for instance a 220.degree. V.about.line. It is not necessary to provide transformers or timing relays. A melting material is incorporated into the conductor between its ends and it melts through when the energy necessary for welding the sleeve has been developed. After the current is supplied through the resistance wire, the welding process is completed when the predetermined melting material melts through. Such sleeves can be manufactured in a mass production operation, and the sleeves are much safer than the conventional devices used to-date.

  • Patent number: 4328689
Abstract: A combination lock having a lock housing with a spring bolt. A manually operable combination dial is provided outside the housing to operate a standard combination mechanism and a bolt retracting cam. A bolt retracting element is secured to the bolt and engageable by the bolt retracting cam when the combination mechanism is operated to a predetermined condition. By turning the dial the retracting cam is operated and the bolt is retracted. A disengagement mechanism disengages the bolt retracting element from the retracting cam, after the dial is released and the bolt is then displaced to its locked position.

  • Patent number: 4293872
Abstract: This invention relates to the production of a printing block or form of the kind in which at least one original is scanned optoelectronically to obtain image signals being mixed to generate a composite signal and is recorded as the printing block or form, one of the image signal which is to be mixed being modulated by a control signal and the other image signal being modulated by the amplitude-inverted control signal and the modulated image signals being summated to obtain said desired composite signal, said control signal determining a mixing range and the mixing characteristic within said mixing range.According to the invention, the said control signal is derived from the color information of a colored control mask by scanning said mask or from the image content of the original.

  • Patent number: 4110826
Abstract: A process for the identification of a predetermined plurality of colors on the surface of an object which is scanned by electrical-optical means to produce measured signals substantially representing the colors red, green, and blue coordinates, the plurality of colors defining color-regions, and defining color-identification-regions, wherein the boundaries of the identification-regions are simulated electronically through threshold-value circuits for each of the coordinates, the output signals of which are transferred to coincidence circuits, which indicate the presence of one of the plurality of colors when the coordinates of the color signals lie within the color-identification-region.

  • Patent number: 4084183
Abstract: A method for the electro-optical reproduction of half-tone pictures in which the picture is subdivided into surface elements having covering spots therein corresponding to a tone value scale, wherein electronic recording data is produced from the surface elements and is stored, wherein by means of electrooptical scanning of a picture signals are obtained and are used to call up the recording data for the reproduction of the picture, the improvement resides in that several raster screens on the picture are formed and the meshes and the angle of rotation of such raster screens are selected in such a manner that an orthogonally oriented parcel screen having a congruent screen structure is obtained, and subdividing the parcels into smaller orthogonally oriented surface elements and obtaining recording data from such surface elements.
