  • Publication number: 20100012873
Abstract: The invention provides a solenoid actuated valve with a plunger which moves in a sleeve under influence of a magnetic field from the solenoid and further comprising a damping device for reducing noise and wear caused by the plunger when it bounces against a top part located in the sleeve. The damping device comprises a first part which forms the limit of the travel of the plunger and another part which is allowed to move relative to the first part in a dampened movement. To enable application in a vacuum system, the damping device comprises a conduit which allows evacuation of a chamber confined between one end of the sleeve and the damping device. The invention further provides a damper for a solenoid actuated valve.

  • Patent number: 6691924
Abstract: In an expansion valve a valve body combines an inlet and outlet in an orifice in fluid communication therewith. A closure is positioned in the valve body and is movable between an opened and closed position to allow or prevent fluid to flow through the orifice from the inlet to the outlet. The valve body defines a bypass flow path which is in fluid communication with the outlet and inlet to allow fluid to flow from the outlet to the inlet, a bypass closure positioned in the bypass flow path is movable between an opened position and a closed position so that when said closures in said closed position fluid flowing from said outlet towards an inlet causes a bypass closure to move toward said opened position allowing fluid to flow on a reverse direction from the outlet to the inlet. When the closure moves toward the opened position fluid pressure maintains the bypass closure in the dosed position allowing fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet. The bypass closure is free floating within the valve body.

  • Patent number: 6354510
Abstract: A thermal expansion valve body for a thermal expansion valve. In order to provide universality so that the thermal expansion valve can ultimately be formed with an inlet and outlet either being aligned or at an angle to one another, the thermal expansion valve body includes an inlet protrusion for the inlet an outlet protrusion for the outlet, and a bypass aperture protrusion for a bypass aperture. The outlet protrusion and the bypass protrusion are substantially identical such that the outlet can be formed in one the outlet and bypass protrusions, and the bypass aperture can be formed in the other of the outlet and bypass protrusions.

  • Patent number: 6116574
Abstract: An expansion valve having a valve element, which valve element co-operates with a valve seat arranged between a first port and a second port in a housing, and is movable by an operating device in one direction and by a restoring device in the opposite direction along the same axis relative to the valve seat. It is desirable to make the properties independent of the operating direction in which the refrigerant flows. For that purpose, the valve element is connected to a first pressure surface arrangement, which comprises first pressure surfaces of substantially equal size acting in opposite directions, on which the pressure in the first port acts when the valve is closed, and to a second pressure surface arrangement, which comprises second pressure surfaces of substantially equal size acting in opposite directions, on which the pressure in the second port acts when the valve is closed.

  • Patent number: 5996968
Abstract: A valve is disclosed having a closure member which co-operates with a valve seat and is movable by an actuating device with a driver element, which driver element is guided in a housing. It is desirable for such a valve to operate reliably and have a long service life. For that purpose, a high-temperature thermoplast is arranged between the housing and the driver element.
