Patent number: 11702795Abstract: A method for processing pulp in an apparatus for washing and dewatering pulp, and a system for controlling this apparatus, the apparatus comprising two rotatable press rolls (102, 104) having a permeable outer surface (106, 108), and a vat (114, 116, 118), the press rolls (102, 104) defining a press nip (112) between them. The processing is determined by a set of variable operating parameters, which are adjusted and/or maintained during operation in response to deviations of measured values of control parameters in relation to their respective predetermined threshold values. The variable operating parameters include rotation speed of the press rolls. The control parameters include vat pressure and/or linear load.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2017Date of Patent: July 18, 2023Assignee: VALMET ABInventors: Jonas Orgård, Hans Lövgren, Stefan Norberg, Hans-Olof Eriksson, Peter Öhrström

Patent number: 7682489Abstract: A frame for a twin-wire press is disclosed including pairs of side members including upper and lower side members arranged on opposite sides of the press, between which upper and lower rolls are attached, a plurality of transverse beams arranged between the pairs of side members which themselves are sections of flat sheet metal and spacers for mutually releasably connecting the side members with the sheet metal being formed so that it permits a degree of curing in the vertical plane to facilitate access to the space between the upper and lower rolls. A method for exchanging wire in a twin-wire press of this type is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 2005Date of Patent: March 23, 2010Assignee: Metso Paper, Inc.Inventors: Leif Odmark, Peter Svedberg, Anders Löfstrand, Hans Lövgren

Publication number: 20100043995Abstract: Twin-wire presses are disclosed for dewatering fiber suspensions comprising endless upper and lower wires defining a dewatering space, upper and lower wire guides for guiding the wires obliquely towards the inlet end of the dewatering space, and upper and lower wedge-shaped seals extending from an inlet box towards the dewatering space inlet to create a seal in the tapering space between the wires and the fiber suspension entering the dewatering space. The inner surfaces of the wedge-shaped seals define a passage for the fiber suspension and the outer surfaces extend at an acute angle towards the inner surfaces so that at least part of the seals are sealed against the wires and the distance between the inner surfaces of the seals is substantially equal to the distance between the wires at the dewatering space inlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2007Publication date: February 25, 2010Applicant: METSO PAPER, INC.Inventors: Hans Lövgren, Leif Ödmark

Patent number: 6776610Abstract: A gas burner in which a burner head is positioned within an inner pipe that is surrounded by an outer protective pipe. Fuel is delivered to the burner head through a fuel conduit positioned within the inner pipe, and combustion air is delivered through the inner pipe. The fuel conduit terminates short of the burner head and the wall of that conduit is provided with a plurality of holes. A further pipe surrounds at least the perforated part of the fuel conduit, and one end of the further pipe extends to the the burner head while the other end is sealed against the fuel conduit to form a mixing chamber between the outside of the fuel conduit and the inside of the further pipe. A second conduit is provided to conduct a given amount of air to the mixing chamber.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2003Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignee: Sandvik ABInventors: Hans Lövgren, Thomas Lewin
