The industrial blade is typically a doctor blade and is fabricated from a plurality of web layers, each web layer formed from a mixture of polyamide and copolyester, thereby forming a thick felt. A polyurethane coating is applied to an edge of the thick felt and the felt is cut at an angle on the coated edge.
