  • Patent number: 7090246
Abstract: An airbag module is disposed in the vehicle seat as an anti-submarining airbag module that includes an inflator, or a connection therefor, a tubular airbag, the two free ends of which are folded over at least once transversely relative to the longitudinal direction of the airbag to form loops, and wherein inserted into the loops of the airbag is a clamping member, by means of which the two layers of the folded-over parts of the airbag are brought into contact, to seal the airbag at least partially in a gastight manner.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 2003
Date of Patent: August 15, 2006
    Assignee: Key Safety Systems, Inc.
    Inventors: Paul Lincoln, Hans Lochmann
  • Patent number: 7052034
Abstract: An airbag module for incorporation in a vehicle seat has an airbag with an inflator located inside the airbag. The inflator has a first free end and an opposite second free end. The second free end of the inflator has a connection section projecting from the airbag. At least one part of the interior surface of the airbag comes into contact with the two free ends of the inflator when the airbag is inflated to brace the inflator in the airbag and to seal the airbag in a gas-tight manner at least in the region of the projecting connection section.

  • Publication number: 20040163872
Abstract: Airbag module, in particular disposed in the vehicle seat as an anti-submarining airbag module, comprising an inflator or a connection therefor, a tubular airbag, the two free ends of which are folded over at least once transversely relative to the longitudinal direction of the airbag to form loops, and wherein introducible into the loops of the airbag is a clamping member, by means of which the two layers of the folded-over parts of the airbag are brought into contact, to seal the airbag at least partially in a gastight manner.

  • Publication number: 20040046375
Abstract: An airbag for an airbag module is a section of a seamless continuous tube, at least partly gastight with the free ends of the tube closed and in its inflated state essentially maintains its original volume and its original length. An airbag module includes the airbag and an airbag inflator, which is or can be connected with the airbag. The tubular airbag may be installed in either a seat cushion or seat back of a vehicle seat to act as a barrier to a seat occupant sliding out of the seat when the airbag is deployed.

  • Patent number: 6103038
Abstract: A low-friction membrane is attached smoothly and tightly to a fusing member such as used in xerography. A combination sheet is provided, the combination sheet having a membrane attached to a heat-deformable backing layer. The combination sheet is drawn over the combination layer, and then, in a sintering process, the membrane detches from the backing layer and shrinks tightly onto the fusing member. The backing layer is then stripped from the fusing member.

  • Patent number: 6099673
Abstract: A method of coating a fuser member with a polymeric sheet is disclosed. Initially, the fuser member is placed in a substantially perpendicular position with respect to the polymeric sheet. The polymeric sheet is then wrapped around the fuser member such that the sheet first comes into contact with an end of the fuser member and is wrapped along the length of the fuser member from one end to the other to form a continuous layer over the fuser member. Last, the wrapped polymeric sheet is sintered to the fuser member to form a seamless coated polymer layer.

  • Patent number: 5918098
Abstract: A fuser member having a) a substrate; and thereover b) an intermediate filled elastomeric layer with silicone rubber and an aluminum oxide in an amount of from about 0.05 to about 5 percent based on the total volume of the intermediate layer; having thereover c) a outer polymeric layer; having thereover d) an optional outer surfactant layer; and thereover e) an optional fluid release layer.
