The compound A is silane grafted separately or together with compound B. The grafted material is extruded around a conductor or a tube followed by crosslinking in the presence of moisture.

    Abstract: Two tube systems, each comprised of two or more concentrically arranged metal tubes, are positively and electrically conductive interconnected through a coupler sleeve system composed of a corresponding number of concentrically arranged coupler sleeves of slightly larger diameter such that ends of the sleeves of the coupler sleeves are threaded upon ends of the tubes of the tube systems to be interconnected.

    Abstract: An elastomeric or thermoplastic polymer, such as polyethylene, is mixed with silane for grafting onto the polyethylene; after grafting the material is extruded around a cable, a conductor, tubing or the like, but just prior to extrusion moist nitrogen is forced into the extruder so that the material will expand to foam, the cells being filled with moist gas so that the cell walls crosslink to stabilize the resulting foam sheath.
