  • Publication number: 20120290452
Abstract: The present invention faces the issue of authorizing transactional services by a Policy and Charging Control system. To this end, the present invention provides for an apparatus carrying out a method of authorizing transactional services and comprising: an authorization requester for submitting a transactional service authorization request with a user identifier and a transactional service identifier, and an authorizer for receiving the transactional service authorization request. This authorizer comprises: a PCRF server for authorizing the transactional service based on subscription and service data, an OCS for authorizing the transactional service based on credit authorization, and a decider for deciding service authorization for the transactional service based on the authorizations respectively made by the PCRF server and OCS.

  • Publication number: 20120224538
Abstract: The invention discloses a node (120) for use in a wireless access communications system (100) which is arranged to transmit information to and receive information from a PCRF (110), a Policy and Charging Rules Function, in the system. The information to and from the PCRF (110) is transmitted over a Gx interface, and the node is also arranged to count the amount of a defined service in the system which is used by a user, a UE (130) in the system during a defined period of time and to take a defined course of action when said amount of the defined service reaches a threshold value. The node (120) is arranged to be able to reset said count at a defined point in time, a “reset point”, and the information which the node it is arranged to receive from the PCRF (110) comprises information on said reset point.

  • Publication number: 20110122885
Abstract: A communication system includes a user equipment (UE) 10 and a gateway 26. The UE (10) sends data packets on one or more bearers (52, 54) to the gateway 26. One or more packet filters (62, 64) are installed in the UE (10) for associating the data packets with the bearers (52, 54). A decision is performed if installation of a new packet filter (62, 64) in the UE (10) is required to map the data packets of indicated data traffic to a particular bearer (52, 54). The result of the decision may then be indicated from a policy controller (30) to a gateway (26) and/or from the gateway (26) to the UE (10). Depending on the result of the decision, the gateway may initiate signaling of the new packet filter (62, 64) to the UE (10) and/or the UE (10) may install the new packet filter (62, 64).

  • Publication number: 20100311392
Abstract: The present invention handles Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) applications in an efficient manner. The present invention is a session aware Diameter relay agent that correlates sessions that require binding and relay sessions to the same AAA server, such as a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) server. In one embodiment, the relay agent may be arranged to select a Diameter server and forward the user equipment (UE) request to the respective server while registering the server selection. The Diameter server may be a PCRF server.

  • Publication number: 20100146596
Abstract: A method (300) for a wireless telecommunication system (200) with user equipment, UE (110), and a first node (120) to which a UE may send a request for access to a service, and a control function (160) with information about the access rights to specific services for UEs in the system. The system (200) comprises an interface (150) between said first node (120) and the control function (160), and the method (300) comprises the step (3) of letting said first node receive information about a UE's access rights from said control function, and letting said first node handle access requests to a service from a UE using the access rights information from said control function. The method additionally comprises the step (3) of letting the access rights information from said control function to said first node comprise a code (X, Y, Z) regarding services to which the UE is denied access.

  • Publication number: 20080232306
Abstract: The invention describes a method of providing services on radio resources to a mobile terminal (110, 230) in a mobile communication network (100), a mobile communication network 100, a node (102, 201) and a mobile terminal (110, 230), where in the event of a radio resource release, old traffic parameters for the released radio resource are saved by a node (102, 201) belonging to the mobile communication network (100) for later usage. The node (102, 201) searches for a different radio resource with the same or a different destination address associated with a mobile terminal (110, 230) as the previously released radio resource. When such a radio resource is found. all subsequent data intended for the mobile terminal (10, 230) sent from a network (132) outside the mobile communication network (100) are sent on that different radio resource while the released radio resource is being re-established.

  • Patent number: 7129927
Abstract: A gesture recognition system includes: elements for detecting and generating a signal corresponding a number of markers arranged on an object, elements for processing the signal from the detecting elements, members for detecting position of the markers in the signal. The markers are divided into first and second set of markers, the first set of markers constituting a reference position and the system comprises elements for detecting movement of the second set of markers and generating a signal as a valid movement with respect to the reference position.
