  • Patent number: 4976127
Abstract: A two-high inclined-roll mill for the piercing and stretching of a solid and hollow work piece along a rolling axis includes a roll housing composed of two detachable housing halves; two rolls defining therebetween a feed angle are displaceably mounted each in one housing half; the housing halves are connected for relative movement towards each other around a common axis which perpendicularly intersects the rolling axis so as to effect adjustment of the feed angle of the rolls.

  • Patent number: 4530225
Abstract: A strip-bending mill is assembled from a set of interchangeable stages, each stage imparting a particular curvature of the strip; a group of stages so assembled, stepwise bending a particularly wide strip or skelp into a tube. For bending a different width strip or skelp, a different group of stages is assembled, but usually including some of the previously used stages in different positions. None of the stages are adjustable. Particular simple construction features are able to be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4149396
Abstract: An arrangement for securing and easily releasing a mandrel from a mandrel rod upon their advancement and return movements during the piercing operation of a seamless tube. Between the mandrel and rod is an intermediate piece having one or more openings for receiving a hook with a nose extending into an opening of the mandrel. The hook is biased into position by a spring mounted around its one end and at its other end beneath a nose is a tapered surface for contacting a corresponding surface of the mandrel to pivot the hook away from the interior of the mandrel to release the mandrel from the intermediate piece and mandrel rod.

  • Patent number: 4148206
Abstract: A roll stand for horizontally journalled contoured rolls is constructed to have two windows, through one of these windows driving engagement is made to the rolls and through the other one two subassemblies may be inserted or removed together from the stand. Each subassembly includes a pair of mounting blocks, a shaft and a roll on the shaft. The two subassemblies are axially locked together and/or independently to the stand, while one rests on the other or is suspended from adjustment spindles. The two subassemblies are removed from the stand together by a lifting fork, requiring only that the connection to the stand be released but leaving the two subassemblies interconnected.

  • Patent number: 4127998
Abstract: The disclosure of the present invention concerns a piercing rolling mill with a mandrel changing device which has at least two groove-like recesses which can be positioned alternately in the rolling line in order to hold the mandrels, and a retractable mandrel stripper, and where the mandrel rod carries at its front end a pin on which the mandrel is attached in such a way that it is detachable against the effect of expanding springs or similar means.
