  • Patent number: 10494604
Abstract: Invention embodiments described herein include methods and devices for stimulating mesenchymal stem cells in a stem cell source to differentiate into osteoblasts capable of forming bone. Devices and methods described include exposing a stem cell source, such as bone marrow aspirate, adipose tissue and/or purified allogenic stem cells, to an active agent, in a manner effective to form activated stem cells.

  • Publication number: 20140274649
Abstract: Instrumentation is provided for the separation of a multiple component sample, such as BMA containing lysed red blood cells and a lysing agent, into a desired component, for example a cell pellet containing stem cells, and a remaining component. The application discloses a device that includes a separator configured to separate the desired portion from the remaining portion, a collector that is supported by the separator and configured to collect the desired component of the multiple component sample after the desired component has been separated from the remaining component by the separator, and a housing that at least partially encloses and supports the separator and the collector.

  • Patent number: 8642065
Abstract: The present disclosure describes an implant for improving bone growth including an osteoconductive scaffold and an osteoinductive small molecule. The osteoconductive scaffold can further include a polymeric binder. The implant can also include an osteogenic material to provide a viable cell population to assist the bone repair and remodeling. Also disclosed is a system for forming an implant for improving bone growth, as well as methods for forming the implant according to the disclosure, in addition to methods of therapeutic use of the implant.

  • Patent number: 5785344
Abstract: An active roll control and leveling system operating between the sprung and unsprung masses of a vehicle or the like includes a plurality of shock absorbers attached between the sprung mass and the unsprung mass, a hydraulic source for supplying fluid at two hydraulic pressures, a sensor for detecting the vehicle's inertial change induced when the vehicle is turning, and a control unit for actively introducing fluid at hydraulic pressure to each shock absorber. The active roll control and leveling system includes a pump with a reservoir and a high pressure accumulator for delivering two separate hydraulic pressures. The active roll control and leveling system also includes an accumulator for each shock absorber and a controlling plunger for directing the pressures simultaneously to the shock absorbers.
