    Abstract: To obtain semiconductor and other crystals of high crystal quality, a melt which is freely floating in a cosmic vacuum is produced. The melt is then solidified in an oriented state. The melting and pulling processes are carried out by using such a small, natural or artificial celestial body as a reference body, that the gravitational effect of the reference body upon the melt, is much smaller than the terrestrial weight of the melt.
