  • Patent number: 4441732
Abstract: A ski binding with foot support having a U-shaped member in which notches are provided on the underside. A shackle rides on each leg and has a C-shaped heel bracket pivotally connected thereto with the ends of the bracket being positionable in various of the notches.

  • Patent number: 4417749
Abstract: A ski binding provided with a step-in frame which may be firmly connected to the surface of the ski for downhill skiing, released and freely pivotable for level movement or provided with two elevated heel positions for uphill climbing.

  • Patent number: 4410200
Abstract: A ski binding having a sole plate which is mounted on a ski and including a step frame which can swivel about an axis on the front side of the sole plate. The sole plate is connected in a releasable manner to the ski so that if a skier falls, he is released from the ski. The step frame can be solidly connected to the sole plate during a downhill run but can be released to facilitate cross-country skiing. A draw spring, one end of which is connected to the under side of the sole plate, has its other end connected to a strap which passes through an opening in the upper side of the sole plate. A buckle is attached to the strap where it passes through the sole plate. When the buckle is situated on the sole plate, the step frame can swivel freely about its connection axis. On the other hand, when the buckle is located on the step frame, the spring tension tends to maintain the step frame against the sole plate.

  • Patent number: 3976308
Abstract: A clamp for a safety ski binding has a housing adapted to be secured to a ski and formed with a part-spherical seat. A pin has a ball head in the seat for swiveling of the pin within the seat. An abutment surface on the housing lies in a plane passing substantially through the center of curvature of the seat and a pressure element slidable on the pin has an end face engageable against the surface of the housing. A spring is compressed between the pin and the pressure element so as to hold the two in a normal position from which the pin may be tipped for release of the skiboot. Means is provided for limiting the axial displacement of the ball head in the seat.

  • Patent number: 3951424
Abstract: A safety ski binding comprises a plate adapted to be secured to the sole of a skiboot and held on a ski by means of a heel clamp and a toe clamp. The toe clamp is provided with a wheel pivoted about an upright axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ski and having a circumferential groove lying generally in a plane parallel to the surface. The front end of the plate is formed with an edge extending perpendicular to the plate and adapted to be received within the groove of the wheel. The heel clamp has at its front end a pair of laterally spaced rollers and behind and between them a compressable pin. The rear end of the plate is formed with a pair of forwardly open seats which are pressed against the rollers by the pin. Pivoting of the plate compresses the pin using one of the rollers as a fulcrum.
