  • Patent number: 8874684
Abstract: A method of starting a third party application subscription in a set of Application Servers located within an IP Multimedia Subsystem network. The method comprises receiving a subscription start request at one of said Application Servers, the request including subscription data, starting the subscription data at that Application Server, and storing the subscription data as transparent data in a Home Subscriber Server, from that Application Server over the Sh interface.

  • Publication number: 20130039225
Abstract: A method relating to the charging of a service in an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS. The service is one that is requested by a first subscriber and that involves a second subscriber. A service-related request message is received (S1) from the first subscriber conveying information relating to the second subscriber. It is determined (S2) that a plurality of terminals is associated with the second subscriber. A credit control request message is sent (S3) to a charging function of the IMS, the credit control request message conveying information relating to the plurality of terminals. A credit control answer message is received (S4) from the charging function conveying credit-related information relating to the plurality of terminals. It is determined (S5) at least partly from the received credit-related information which of the plurality of terminals to involve in the service requested by the first subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20120195235
Abstract: A new telecommunication service provides users with the ability to specify and receive spoken-language services in a preferred language that differs from a preferred written or text language. One or more user (e.g., a subscribing entity) preferences for spoken language as well as written language is specified and stored, e.g., in a subscriber database. An application server uses the configured spoken language preference(s) to select the language used for voice announcements, voice prompts, and other voice applications provided in one or more telecommunication services. For example, the server populates the existing SIP Accept-Language header and/or a new SIP P-Media-Language field with the spoken language preference(s) to allow the other servers, e.g., in a home and destination domain, to provide spoken/voice service as well as text-based service to the user according to the user's language preference(s).

  • Patent number: 6845152
Abstract: A system to stop call looping in a communications network comprises a switch to receive incoming calls, a server operatively connected to the switch, and a call control function running on the server. The call control function is programmed to determine if incoming calls, received at the switch and directed to a called number, are possible looped calls. If the call control function determines that a given incoming call is a possible looped call of a previous call, then it delays the forwarding of the incoming call to the called number.
