  • Patent number: 9376296
Abstract: A hoist for vehicles having two lifting columns arranged at both sides of a vehicle, each having two support arms that are supported in a horizontally pivotal and longitudinally adjustable fashion at their lifting column, and each having at their free end a support plate. These support plates are positionable at support positions underneath a vehicle as specified by the vehicle manufacturer by an appropriate movement of the support arm. The manufacturer support positions are saved as target positions according to corresponding vehicle model in a data memory of the hoist, and coordinates of actual positions of the support plates are determined by measurements and perhaps calculations. A computer makes a comparison between the target and actual coordinates, and enables a lifting process of the support arms only when differences between the target and the actual coordinates are within a predetermined tolerance.

  • Patent number: 7740109
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a vehicle lifting device, having at least two, preferably moveable, lifting columns (1-4), which are controlled wirelessly. When a switch is activated for raising or lowering the lifting device, a corresponding signal is transmitted wirelessly to the lifting columns (1-4) and additional signals, which are representative of the individual lifting movements, are transmitted to a control device (5). In the case of unacceptably high movement differences between individual lifting columns, the normal operation is stopped. Here, it is essential that for monitoring the wireless signal transmission, the control device (5) exchanges control signals with the lifting columns (1-4) continuously, and the reception of these control signals is monitored at least in one direction.

  • Patent number: 4573663
Abstract: In a scissor-type lifting platform with two pairs of scissors disposed independently of one another, with hydraulic operation, a control cylinder is provided at one pair of scissors which is designed such that it produces the power required for the lifting of both pairs of scissors. A slave cylinder is series connected to said control cylinder at the second pair of scissors, which in the case of the lifting movement of the control cylinder is supplied with pressure medium. In this manner, a synchronization of the two pairs of scissors is achieved perforce and a mechanical connecting arrangement between the two pairs of scissors for the monitoring of synchronization may be eliminated.
