  • Patent number: 5575305
Abstract: Described are a procedure for cleansing double seat a valve, especially one operating with low or no leakage, and a valve arrangement for implementing the procedure which guarantees, among other things, that the cleansing of the relevant areas of the double seat valve is possible with a minimal, economical and environmentally friendly use of cleansing or disinfecting agents. In terms of industrial process engineering, among other things, a partial stroke of a closing member exposes a guide passage (A or C) in such a manner that the cleanser stream (R) branches off via the exposed guide passage (A or C) out of the valve housing part (1a or 1b), thereby cleansing the guide passage (A or C), and at least one of the following areas, the other guide passage (C or A), the leakage hollow space (6), and the seating surface (2a) which has been made accessible.

  • Patent number: 5435853
Abstract: A process for cleaning the seats of a double seat valve having two independently movable closing elements, each of the closing elements being associated with a respective one of the valve seats, which closing elements can be moved into simultaneous fully open positions when the double seat valve is in an open state, and at least one of the closing elements is movable to a partly open position independently of the other closing element, in which partly open position a passage is defined between said at least one closing element and the seat associated with said at least one closing element, comprising: periodically alternately moving said at least one closing element to the partly open position and reversing the moving to move said at least one closing element to the closed position in partial stroke movements, the reversing of partial stroke movements of the closing elements from opening to closing movement and from closing to opening movement is done by a control unit in response to the passage of time, to t

  • Patent number: 5086816
Abstract: A fluent material is transferred from at least one first vessel into at least one second vessel by being advanced at first into a metering vessel arranged ahead of the second vessel and weighed therein. There is an inlet for the fluent material to and an outlet for the fluent material from the metering vessel, through which on the one hand the metering vessel is loadable from the first vessel and dischargeable into the second vessel. The metering vessel has a degree of freedom of displacement only in the direction of its weight force component measurable by the forces measuring device in view of the support plane. The section of the inlet conduit either enters the inlet of the metering vessel contact-free or is connected thereto resiliently or is connectable thereto, and the section of the outlet conduit from the metering vessel either emerges therefrom contact-free or is resiliently connected thereto or is connectable thereto.

  • Patent number: 5085241
Abstract: A valve which is fitted with two sealing places which are disposed in series and in the closed position of the valve prevent the overflow of fluid from one valve casing part into another, with the leakage cavity disposed between the sealing places and connected to the outside of the valve through the valve casing, has a closed position in which the connection of the leakage cavity with an inside space of the valve casing parts is sealed by a closing member cooperating with the two sealing places. The connection between the leakage cavity and the inside space can be controlled also in positions other than the closed position of the valve by a locking piece which substitutes the closing member regarding its interaction with the leakage cavity. This locking piece, which is movable relative to the closing member in the direction of the degree of freedom of motion of the closing member, controls the connection between the leakage cavity and the inside space.

  • Patent number: 5048555
Abstract: A process and a device are useful for protecting and supporting a seal in a valve arrangement. The device comprises a closure member designed as a slide gate having a translational or rotational movement, a seat region of the valve housing parts corresponding to said closure member, a closure part which can slide in the direction of the degree of freedom of the closure member, and a seal or sealing position which is effective between the closure member and the seat region or which co-operates with the closure part. Said process and device ensure, amongst others, that the seal in a valve arrangement of the type described in the introductory part is protected and supported in positions other than the closed position. To this end, the load on the seal or sealing position which ensures sealing in the closed position of the valve arrangement is applied by the closure part in positions other than the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4995416
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for controlling the medium inlet into at least one leakage cavity of a valve according to the opening part of claim 1. When applying the proposed process to a polyway-switching valve, the construction of which is novel per se, a valve is created which is novel with view to the switching function and with view to its properties, in particular the leak-proof property of each individual seat region. In the procedural technique this is inter alia achieved in that in the valve position deviating from the normal position there is provided at each switched valve seat a substitution of the closing member or shutter element by the respective other one for shutting off the leakage cavity from the inner space.

  • Patent number: 4757834
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the realization of a leakage-free switching double seat valve allowing cleaning of seats. Said method ensures that in double seat valves comprising closing elements of which one is structurally designed as set disk and the other slide-like, there can be realized a leakage-free switching and the possibility of simultaneous cleaning of the seat surfaces of both closing elements and/or the cleaning of the seat surface of only the slide-like closing element possibly subjected to product action.

  • Patent number: 4362327
Abstract: A pipe or armature connection includes two interfitting connecting members. The connecting members include surfaces providing axial and radial guidance upon their assembly but require only a small space for assembly and disassembly. One of the connecting members includes a groove dimensioned to positively retain an O-ring sealing member placed therein so that it will not fall from the groove. The dimensions of the groove and the one connecting member are such that the bulging portion of the O-ring is protected from damage by the extended surface of the one connecting member. Upon assembly of the two connecting members, the O-ring is urged into the space between the two members, thereby precluding the collection of materials in the space and rendering the connection more easily cleaned. This system is particularly advantageous in pipe systems that carry food products and materials that must be hygienically cleaned after use.
