  • Patent number: 4919448
Abstract: The invention relates to a heel-piece for a safety ski binding, the heel-piece being released when the load on the binding exceeds a specified limit. A link mechanism is mounted on the heel-piece for connecting the sole-holder to the binding plate of the ski. The link mechanism is engaged by two spindles, which in the operational position of the heel-piece are transverse to the ski and parallel to its surface. The sole-holder is connected by the link mechanism to the binding plate and to the spindles, these components being mutually engaged by a spring-loaded detent/detent-track. In order to achieve compensation for defective settings of the heel-holder, the invention provides that the sole-holder is connected to the binding plate only by the link mechanism. Further, one of the components of the detent/detent-track system is connected with one of the binding plate and the sole-holder and the other component of the detent/detent-track is connected with the other of the binding plate and the sole holder.

  • Patent number: 4880252
Abstract: The present invention concerns a ski safety binding including an electronic analyzer connected to force pickups that emit electrical signals. An electric power supply such as a battery is provided. An electromechanical release element controls a locking mechanism for acting on a heel holder or piece. The electromechanical release element has at least one stop member. To assure high reliability even in the severe weather conditions, the present invention mounts the electromechanical release member inside a well sealed housing. A drive control member is positioned in sealed manner through the wall of the housing. The drive control member includes a shaft and controls the locking mechanism that acts on the heel piece.

  • Patent number: 4691936
Abstract: A ski binding having a hook element arranged at the tip of a ski shoe, a bearing block secured to the ski and having a receiving part for the hook element, and a locking element supported on the bearing block and having at least one locking protuberance. The locking element locks the hook element against movement on the receiving part by means of a spring force. The hook element has a wall-like member or hook bar which extends in the skiing position at least approximately vertically upwardly relative to the upper side of the ski. The receiving part has guide bars thereon which extend approximately perpendicularly to the upper side of the ski and which are designed to receive the hook bar therein.

  • Patent number: 4624475
Abstract: A release ski binding having a sole plate which in its center area can be pivoted about an approximately vertical axis and can be tilted up about a transverse axis arranged in front of the vertical axis, which in the skiing position is held on the ski by a holding mechanism biased by a release spring, which holding mechanism is responsive to a swivelling movement of the sole plate relative to the ski and upon reaching a predetermined angle of traverse effects both an upwardly and also a side opening of a locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4592569
Abstract: A release ski binding has a sole plate which is pivotal in its central region about an approximately vertical axis and is tiltable up about a transverse axis which is arranged in front of the vertical axis, which sole plate is held in the skiing position by a resilient holding mechanism which, during a release, effects an opening of the jaws which hold the ski show on the ski.In order to bring about a simple structural design of the binding, the holding mechanism has associated with it a spring housing which is movably supported on the sole plate, the spring of which spring housing urges a locking member for the jaws into the clamping position. The locking member is arranged on the sole plate.

  • Patent number: 4585250
Abstract: A release ski binding having a sole plate which is pivotal in its central region about a generally vertical axis and can be forwardly pivoted about a transverse axle which is arranged in front of the vertical axle, which sole plate is held in the skiing position by a resilient holding mechanism which, during a release, effects an opening of the elements which hold the ski shoe to the ski.In order to create a simple and reliable construction of the binding, a stepping bar, which is under the influence of an erecting spring, is supported on the sole plate, which stepping bar during a stepping down procedure, moves the elements into the ski boot clamping position.
