  • Patent number: 4875869
Abstract: A backplane has several socket connectors arranged parallel side by sde on the side facing a module and at least one bus having at least one bus line. A spring contact is attached to a bus contact pin of each socket connector of a bus on the side of the backplane that faces away from the modules. The contact pin of the spring contact adjacent to the bus contact pin of each socket connector is electrically connected to a corresponding bus contact pin. The second contact pin of each pin contact is electrically connected to the others with the bus line. The connection of each spring contact can be controlled with handling means. Modules can be separated from the part of the bus that goes beyond the modules without requiring that the modules be pulled from their plug-in locations on a module carrier.

  • Patent number: 4871324
Abstract: A backplane has several socket connectors arranged in parallel, side by side, on a side facing the modules. The pins of the socket connectors form a pin field on a side of the backplane facing away from said modules. At least one bus consists of at least one bus line. Each bus contact pin of each socket connector of the bus is associated with a resilient contact pin. The resilient contact pins are each electrically connected by a spring force to the corresponding bus contact pin. The resilient contact pins are electrically connected by means of the bus line. The contact of each resilient contact pin can be separated with handling means formed from insulating material. Thus, modules can be separated from the bus without requiring that these modules be pulled out of their plug-in location on a module carrier.

  • Patent number: 4861274
Abstract: A backplane has several socket connectors arranged in parallel, side by side on a side that faces the module and at least one bus that comprises several bus lines. An outer row of contact pins that function as bus contact pins are always shorter than the contact pins of a middle rows of contacts. The bus contact pins of each socket connector of the backplane line up with auxiliary contact pins. The auxiliary contact pins belong to one bus and are electrically connected with a bus line. The bus contact pins of each socket connector are electrically connected to the corresponding auxiliary contact pins via contact means which can be moved with a handling means. Thus, the modules can be separated from a bus that extends beyond the modules without having to pull out the modules from their plug-in locations on a module carrier.
