  • Patent number: 6694277
Abstract: A device and a method are for monitoring misalignment of a distance sensor on a vehicle which represents a combination of two individual procedures. The two individual procedures are selected in such a way that one procedure has advantages in areas in which the other procedure functions disadvantageously, so that the weaknesses of one procedure may be compensated for by the strengths of the other procedure. Furthermore, with the aid of this combination, it may be decided with far greater certainty whether a misalignment is present which may be removed using suitable correcting measures, or whether an extreme misalignment is present, based on which the system must be switched off.

  • Patent number: 6672841
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pumping device for delivering and metering fluids, in particular medical fluids such as dialysis fluids, with a piston unit having a driving device and a piston and with a membrane unit which has a membrane and a first chamber bordered by the membrane. The pumping device also has a hydraulic unit which has a space to accommodate a hydraulic fluid which is connected to the piston of the piston unit and to the first chamber of the membrane unit. The reliability of metering by such a pumping device is increased by providing a control unit for guaranteeing a predefinable metering rate and/or quantity and also providing a measuring device by means of which the axial position of the piston unit can be determined directly and which can be connected to the control unit.

  • Publication number: 20030100882
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the treatment of a medical fluid, said device consisting of a permanently installed fluid treatment machine and a cassette with fluid-carrying channels as well as an elastic matt placed between these two items, with matt channels recessed in said elastic matt. The matt channels are provided with slits. Via the matt channels, an optimised vacuum distribution takes place and the slits serve the purpose of removing air between the cassette and the fluid treatment machine.

  • Publication number: 20020138223
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method used to monitor mis-adjustments of the distance sensor of a motor vehicle, combining two individual methods. Both individual methods are selected in such a way that one method has advantages in areas where the other method functions at a disadvantage, whereby the shortcomings of one method can be compensated by the strengths of the other. By combining said methods, it is possible to decide with a far greater degree of reliability whether a mis-adjustment has occurred, requiring suitable follow-up measures or whether an extreme misadjustment has occurred, requiring the shut-down of the system.

  • Patent number: 5356937
Abstract: The resin has a polymeric matrix and functional groups of formula I wherein the radicals have the meaning stated in claim 1. The resin is prepared by reacting a corresponding resin having functional groups of formula II with HC(O)R.sup.2 and (R.sup.3).sub.2 SO.sub.3 or (R.sup.3).sub.2 S.sub.2 O.sub.5. The resin is useful for reducing the concentration of alkaline earth or transition metal ions in a solution.

  • Patent number: 5109074
Abstract: Aminomethylphosphonic chelating resins are prepared by amination, hydrolysis and methylphosphonation of haloalkylated polymer beads. The amination of the haloalkylated polymer beads is carried out with hexamethylenetetramine. The produced haloaminated beads are hydrolysed and methylphosphonated in one single step without addition of a substantial amount of formaldehyde or a formaldehyde releasing compound.

  • Patent number: 4885530
Abstract: A device for the early detection of breaks and/or marginal wear in the cutting edge in machine tools equipped with reversible cutting plates having at least one insulated conductor path embedded in their cutting edge, with the conductor path being in communication with a voltage source and forming part of a circuit for actuating a signal to break off a machining process. The conductor path is part of an alternating circuit which is connected with the voltage source without physical contact. An induction coil disposed in the tool is able to induce a current in a circuit closed within the cutting plate itself and this current is measured by a measuring coil disposed in the tool. In some embodiments, insulated conductor paths in the reversible cutting plate are capacitively coupled with the voltage source without contacting it.

  • Patent number: 4770568
Abstract: Method and apparatus for the contactless monitoring of a working tool for breakage or wear, the tool being installed in a machine having at least two parts, with one of the parts being stressed by forces imposed on the working tool during machine operation, by: inductively monitoring the position of the one part relative to the other of the two parts during machine operation to produce at least one induced voltage representative of a change in relative position; determining the value of the induced voltage; and emitting a signal when a predetermined change occurs in the value of the induced voltage.

  • Patent number: 4670827
Abstract: A regenerative d-c power supply comprises a bridge rectifier, a series-connected smoothing choke, a shunt-connected filter capacitor and a switching circuit consisting of a first diode disposed in a positive line of the d-c power supply between the smoothing choke and one terminal of the capacitor, a second diode disposed in a negative line of the power supply between another terminal of the capacitor and the rectifier and a pair of converter valves in the form of transistors connecting the cathodes of the diodes to one another and the anodes of the diodes to one another. Each converter valve is operated in the forward energy transmission direction by a respective first pulse sequence having pulses staggered in time with respect to the pulses of the other first pulse sequence. The converter valves are operated in the reverse energy transmission direction by respective second pulse sequences each having pulses staggered in time with respect to the pulses of the other second pulse sequence.

  • Patent number: 4471419
Abstract: Circuitry for, and method of operating, an intermediate-link converter of the type wherein two controlled antiparallel-connected converters are connected via an intermediate link having an impressed voltage to an inverter having a plurality of addressable switches in a three-phase bridge circuit. The polarity of the intermediate-link current is interrogated 30.degree. after every change of the addressing combination of the switches of the inverter. If the interrogated polarity of the intermediate-link voltage is larger than a desired value by a predetermined amount, the converter which is arranged in the feeding-in direction is switched off and the other converter, which is arranged in the feedback direction is switched on. In this manner, a load connected to the inverter can feedback energy into a supply network via the intermediate link and a converter operating as an inverter.

  • Patent number: 4379325
Abstract: An arrangement for bridging brief network failures in intermediate-link converters converts the kinetic energy in load motors into electrical energy by reducing the frequency of the converter. Such a frequency reduction is performed in accordance with the value of a control deviation signal corresponding to the difference between desired and actual frequencies of operation of the converter. The control deviation signal is produced by the combination of a PI controller which is coupled at its output to an integrator circuit. The integrator circuit controls the frequency and voltage of the converter.
