Abstract: A housing, preferably a hermetically sealing housing (1), a small-type refrigerating machine for receiving an electromotor and a piston-cylinder unit driven by the same for compressing a refrigerant guided via feed lines and discharge lines into the housing (1) and into the piston of the piston-cylinder unit, with the housing (1) being provided with at least one connecting element (6, 7, 8, 9, 15) for fastening to a support plate (5, 10, 14). It is provided in accordance with the invention that in a direction of view perpendicular to the support plate (5, 10, 14) the outermost dimensions of the housing (1) protrude beyond the outermost dimensions of the at least one connecting element (6, 7, 8, 9, 15), and the at least one connecting element (6, 7, 8, 9, 15) or its imaginary shortest connecting line along the surface of the housing (1) encloses a surface area of the housing (1) facing the support plate (5, 10, 14).

Abstract: An outlet connector for a container is provided through which a product can be introduced into the container through the outlet connector. The outlet connector preferably includes a sealing mechanism that can burst once a threshold pressure is exceeded, for example, by the flow of products toward the container. A sealing mechanism is described herein having two layers, wherein one layer is perforated to provide a defined tearing of the sealing mechanism. A method of producing an outlet connector is also provided herein.

Abstract: The invention concerns a device for increasing the relative humidity of an air flow (13), comprising air humidifying means (25) which are arranged in the air flow (13), and which are configured to supply humidifying water to the air flow (13). The invention is characterized in that said air humidifying means (25) are connected to a humidifying circuit (5) which comprises a recycling pump (7) for recycling the humidifying water in the humidifying circuit (5), and a humidifying heat exchanger (13) for heating the humidifying water so that it reaches a temperature lower than boiling point. The invention aims at creating a device enabling the humidifying power to be significantly increased, at a low cost and with little space requirement. Therefor, the humidifying means include a hollow porous material (15) which is connected to the humidifying circuit (5).

Abstract: The present invention provides new salts and/or addition compounds and/or complex compounds of guanidinoacetic acid with malic acid, aspartic acid, ascorbic acid, succinic acid, pyruvic acid, fumaric acid, gluconic acid, ?-ketoglutaric acid, oxalic acid, pyroglutamic acid, 3-nicotinic acid, lactic acid, citric acid, maleic acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, 2-hydroxybenzoic acid, L-carnitine, acetyl-L-carnitine, taurine, betaine, choline, methionine and lipoic acid as well as in the form of sodium, potassium or calcium guanidinoacetate. These salts have improved physiological and therapeutic properties and are particularly suitable for use as dietary supplements, as animal feeds and in cosmetic or dermatological preparations in which especially the marked stability and good bioavailability of the salts come to the fore.

Abstract: In an adaptation (4, 5, 6, 7) of differences in injected quantities within high operating ranges, the differences are based on an injection parameter and are determined by regulating an irregular operation in an operating point within the lower operating ranges. The injection parameter which determines the differences in injected quantities in the lower operating point is set on a value different from the normal operating value in this point. The dynamics of the operating point varying with the corresponding parametric value of injection is limited during adaptation (4, 5, 6, 7).

According to the invention, the cylinder housing comprises axial extensions facing towards the cylinder cover and located in the peripheral area of the cover. Abstract: The invention relates to optical sensors and systems and methods employing the sensors for detecting one or more compounds of interest in a test medium. In one embodiment an optical sensor comprising a long period grating and a solid phase microextraction (SPME) film is exposed to a test medium such that one or more compounds of interest are selectively partitioned into the solid phase microextraction film. At least one optical property of the sensor exposed to the test medium is compared with at least one corresponding optical property of the sensor in absence of the test medium; wherein a difference in the optical property is indicative of one or more compounds of interest in the test medium. The methods and systems may employ long period grating sensors with or without SPME films, and fiber loop ring-down spectroscopy to measure optical properties of the sensor.
