  • Patent number: 6663020
Abstract: The invention relates to a mist generating head (34) comprising an injection unit (70) of the type used in diesel engines. Said head atomizes the liquid to be nebulized at a high frequency. The stream of liquid droplets emitted by the injection unit (70) is surrounded and broken up further by a gas nozzle (102) which encloses the outlet opening of the injection unit and is positioned slightly downstream of same.

  • Patent number: 6491756
Abstract: It is proposed in order to adjust the release quantities of spraying heads (58), by means of which lubricant is sprayed onto surface areas of metal sheets (10), to provide a temperature regulation for the lubricant and to control the lubricant release by the spraying heads (58) via the temperature adjustment. The temperature adjustment of the lubricant is effected by using a heat exchanger (16) circulating hot water.

  • Patent number: 6115490
Abstract: To generate a high-contrast image of powder particles located on the surface of a print product, a measurement apparatus has an illumination unit which generates a measurement light beam which strikes the surface of the print product at glancing incidence. A measurement optics has an axis vertical to the surface of the print product and a diaphragm body is arranged in its focal point on the image side. The measurement optics forms an image of a surface region of the dusted print product on an image converter. An electronic evaluation unit determines the number and size of the powder particles from the image obtained on the image converter.

  • Patent number: 6038998
Abstract: A device for applying powder to sheets passing sequentially through a printing press in a conveying direction along a conveyor route, the sheets being combinable into a sheet pile in a manner that one respective side of upper and rear sides of a respectively following sheet is situated opposite the other respective side of the upper and rear sides of a respectively preceding sheet, includes a device for generating a powder-bearing gas curtain associated with the conveyor route and formed of a carrier gas conveying powder particles, and for applying the powder of said gas curtain to the rear side of the respective sheets prior to the combination of the sheets into the sheet pile.

  • Patent number: 5989344
Abstract: In an atomizer head that produces a conical droplet mist, two shaping air ducts are diametrically opposing and are provided in the vicinity of the mist outlet aperture. The shaping air jets emerging from these ducts flatten the droplet mist which thus has a larger cone angle in one direction and a smaller cone angle in the other direction. A droplet mist thus flattened can be used to apply a liquid layer in a manner particularly true to the areas and contours of a workpiece surface.
