  • Patent number: 5025148
Abstract: A laser warning sensor having a directional resolution capability based on a pulse frequency encoding of the directions at which laser light beams are received, is equipped with a plurality of light signal delay units. The directional or angular information is encoded by closed loop fiberglass light conductors, one of which is part of each light signal delay unit, each closed loop has a different length so that the respective signal delay signifies the respective directional information. The closed loop light conductors transform received light pulse signals into pulse sequences or pulse trains each having a given frequency. The respective frequencies are separated by filters in an electronic evaluating circuit which receives its input signals from a photodiode which receives the output light signals from all delay units.

  • Patent number: 5017006
Abstract: A laser warning receiver or detector for the detection of extraneous light not emanating from the laser to be detected. Thus, extraneous light is differentiated from incoming laser light. The laser radiation coming from a laser to be detected is detected on the basis of its time coherent radiation. Simultaneously, the wave length as well as the pulse form or shape are analyzed in spite of any presence of incoherent radiation components.

  • Patent number: 4962311
Abstract: A detector device for the directionalized detection of laser radiation has a plurality of individual optics, which together can measure radiation throughout a defined total angle of detection. Each individual optical system comprises a fiber optic guide with a corresponding light concentrator, which has a generally funnel-shaped, dynamically balanced design, tapered towards the end of the fiber optic guide. The funnel wall reflects inwardly and is shaped, so that the following condition is fulfilled:A.sub.K sin.sup.2 .theta..sub.max >A.sub.F sin.sup.2 .theta..sub.g.

  • Patent number: 4944590
Abstract: An optical-fiber gyroscope of the Sagnac type consists of a fiber-optic loop and a 3.times.3 coupler, composed of three optically coupled fiber-optic guides, whereby a first fiber-optic guide of the 3.times.3 coupler is coupled to an optical radiation source and the two other fiber-optic guides of the 3.times.3 coupler are coupled on one end to one end of the fiber-optic loop and, on the other end, to a radiation detecting instrument. The first fiber-optic guide of the 3.times.3 coupler features a radiation detecting instrument on the end opposite the radiation source, with which interference-related variations in the light source, as well as in the 3.times.3 coupler, can be detected.
